“Help. Save me, Daddy.” From the window and my family. I was stuck. “The invading hordes are back.”
Daddy cleared his throat but didn’t laugh as he held the screen out so I could get my butt in the window. “Why are you climbing in this way?”
“Because the back door is locked.” Daddy had forgotten me but his screen was wiggly, so I’d been smart. “I tried that first.”
“Oh.” Daddy frowned and looked at me and the window as I finally got both halves of me in the house. “I’ll work on that… or just getting you a key.”
He was silly.
“It’s only been a week, Daddy. I can’t have a key yet.” There were steps. “We need to have inside sex and an argument first.”
Daddy said we weren’t going to rush, so he couldn’t change his mind yet.
He blinked like his brain was resetting but he was still able to function without one because he fixed the screen then tookmy hand. “I think we need to sit down and write out this list eventually, but let’s stay on track for the time being. You said there were invaders?”
My Knight asked good questions as he took me to the living room for safety and cuddles.
Both were very important during invasions and Daddy had a couch that was big enough for lap cuddles and even naps. All of his furniture was designed to have a Little in his lap, so he’d known he wanted to be a Daddy even when he hadn’t realized it.
Brains were amazing.
“The hordes are back.” I hadn’t even gotten any hints that the castle would be under attack. “They’re trying to get in through the drawbridge but I remembered to lock the door.”
Daddy’s lectures about being safe had come in handy.
“Good boy.” Daddy kissed my head and tried to look calm but I knew he wanted to groan and complain about the invaders too. “Now, let’s start at the beginning. Do you know why your family has descended on you?”
“No.” I was glad we were starting easy because even with the ladder, climbing over the fence hadn’t been easy. “But I was fast and dropped to the floor. Likestop, drop, and rollbut for family. Stop, drop, and hide.”
His chest jerked but my Knight nodded seriously. “That’s a smart trick to remember. So you heard them at the door and then dropped to the floor?”
“Yep.” I was smart. “I crawled carefully around the house and escaped out the back. I even remembered my keys so I could lock the back door.”
No sneaky invaders coming from the rear.
Rear.
Ha.
“Why are you giggling?” My happies made Daddy happy too. “No. Don’t get me distracted looking cute.”
I wasn’t going to promise that, so I kissed his cheek as Daddy sat down on the couch and pulled me onto his lap. “I’m smart, Daddy. I even remembered my phone and my wallet, so I can move and don’t ever have to go back.”
I’d have to get new toys, but I liked shopping.
“You are very smart but I think between the two of us we can figure out how to set some boundaries.” Daddy did his best to sound confident but we both knew it was impossible to teach invaders boundaries.
That’s why they were invaders.
They didn’t have manners either because they were getting loud and I could hear them through the window.
“You can figure it out.” That was one of the things Daddies were for… I’d seen it online. “I’ll wait here.”
He finally chuckled and shook his head, but I knew I could convince him to save me. “Are you sure this is a Daddy job?”
“Yes. Positive.” Super-duper positive. “Thank you very much.”
Ha.
