“Is everything alright?” Mr. Davis asks.
Blue: Come by our place. Ollie will give you the key to the rear entrance. You can sneak Apollo out after Blake distracts the reporters with a fake tip.
I should say no. But I’m as bad as Oliver when it comes to refusing someone help who needs it.
Me: I’m on my way.
“Sorry, Mr. Davis. I’m going to have cut our game short.”
He simply grins and wishes me a good evening as I place a quick kiss on his wrinkly cheek. “Goodnight,” I say as my phone buzzes again.
On my way out, I read her message.
Blue: I owe you one.
In all honesty, I owe her. I was never going to see Apollo again. As busy as I keep myself. With two jobs, caring for many of the elderly people in town, like Mr. Davis, and jumping at every opportunity to help someone who asks because I can’t say no. I would always have had an excuse not to see him.
But now…
I have the perfect excuse to see my Spaceman.
