It’s also been exactly seven days since I tasted Dacen’s lips, ran my hands over his naked body, and watched his gorgeous features twist with pleasure as he came. That was definitely fun. I want to dothatagain. And so much more. I clamp my jaw shut to hold back a smile as I think about the last few days. Dacen and I have texted, and things at school have been maybe a little awkward, but I don’t regret what we did one damn bit. I can totally get on board with this physical shit we started. It’s more intense than any of the fucking around I’ve done with other people in the past. I’ve yet to decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, or even a thing to dwell on at all. Probably not.

“Damn,” Tyler exclaims, plopping into a chair on my right. “God bless the crop top.”

“Amen to that.”

It’s Saturday night and a big group of us are at the lake, mostly seniors, some juniors too. I don’t pay much attention to them. My focus is currently zeroed in on Dacen. He’s over near the fire, dancing with a few of his friends. His movements are smooth, seductive, and perfectly on beat with the tempo of the song thumping away. As his hips sway back and forth he bumps them against whoever he’s beside and throws his arms up above his head. The strip of skin visible between his belly button and waistband becomes a much wider expanse, reaching up to his ribs. The light of the fire flickers and licks a pattern across his skin, highlighting the well-defined but not overly bulky muscles of his stomach, his obliques, and his lats as he slowly turns in a circle. His hips never stop moving. There’s a direct connection between his hips and my dick; with every movement, every sway, every thrust of his body, I get harder and harder. Thank God it’s dark outside.

I tear my eyes away and find Tyler staring at me with a sly tilt to his lips and a knowing look in his eyes. A few seconds later it hits me what I’d said and I can’t blame the proximity to the bonfire for the heat on my face.

“Umm...” My voice trails off. Because what else can I really say that won’t further incriminate me?

“Yeah. Yum.” Tyler holds his drink toward me. I lift my own and tap it against his in silent cheers.

I take a swig of beer and settle a bit further into my chair. When had I gone fromDacen is a distraction that I must ignore, tothe hot guy in the crop top is a complete meal and I’m starving? When had I stopped denying shit to Tyler about it? And since when do we sit around and make commentary about hot guys? His comment about the crop top… does that mean he’s checking Dacen out too? My eyebrows furrow and I bite my thumbnail. My knee bounces up and down rapidly and I scratch the back of my neck with one hand. In the worst display ofplay it coolever, I glance back over at Tyler and then follow his line of sight into the small crowd where Dacen dances. His eyes are in fact not on Dacen. But where they are situated seems to be a new development on his part. Interesting.

Now that my eyes are back on the group, they naturally settle on Dacen again. I catch a glimpse of the ink on his side and an involuntary groan escapes from deep within me. I have a thing for tattoos. I’m coming to learn I have a thing for everything when it comes to Dacen. Tonight the tattoo is partially hidden by his shirt, but that almost makes it hotter, sexier, like it’s an invitation to come peel his clothes off and trace the lines with my tongue. I swallow hard and raise my eyes to his face. And that’s when my heart rate quadruples because he’s staring straight back at me. He’s still dancing, still moving those sinful hips, but he’s watching me now as he does so.

“Jeeeeeesus,” Tyler whispers beside me. “Um, just saying, you could cut the sexual tension between the two of you with a knife. The testosterone coming off the both of you in waves is going to make everyone horny as hell, casualties of your silent foreplay.” He coughs and I hear him squirm around in his chair.

“Ty?”

“Yeah?”

“Shut up.”

Tyler chuckles quietly to himself but keeps his mouth shut. I reach blindly into my pocket and pull my phone out. At that moment someone leans into Dacen to say something and our eye contact breaks. While he’s distracted I open my messages app and stare at it for a moment. My pulse has slowed to almost normal like my body has decided my next actions are inevitable and there’s no point in going into fight-or-flight mode. Getting my lips and hands-on Dacen again is absolutely necessary.

“Just do it,” Tyler whispers beside me, and this time I don’t shush him. If he wants to be my one-man cheering section, so be it.

I pull up my message chain with Dacen and after considering my words for a few seconds, type out and shoot him a text. It’s so loud out here I know he won’t hear it, so when he looks back over to me I hold my phone up and shake it lightly. His movements slow and he tilts his head to the side then reaches into his back pocket and tugs his phone out. I smirk to myself when his response comes through a few seconds later.

DACEN: I’ll meet you in five.

After shoving my phone back in my pocket, I stand up and turn toward Tyler but don’t meet his eyes. “I’ve gotta go do something.” My thumb jerks in the general direction of the parking area.

“Something or someone?”

I scratch my cheek with my middle finger, subtly flipping him off. He breaks into a wide smile and looks oddly… proud?

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, which is to say you pretty much have carte blanche.” Tyler takes a long pull from his beer and then wipes a fake tear from his eye. “My baby boy is getting so big. Have fun and be careful, Rynekin.”

“Dude, you did not just pull out that nickname, Tyarrhea.”

“Touché. Now go, I’m tired of looking at your face. See you later tonight. Or not.”

He wiggles his eyebrows up and down suggestively. I shove my partially empty beer at him. He downs the rest of it and sets it in the cup holder of the fold-out chair he’s lounging in. I’m crashing on Tyler’s couch tonight. His parents are cool with his friends staying over whenever, and it’s way less awkward than stumbling home at the wee hours of the morning and walking into my aunt or my sister giving me the third degree as they so love to do.

“Don’t wait up, Ma,” I tease.

He nods and waves his hand absentmindedly. “I’ll leave the basement door unlocked. Just come in whenever and lock up after yourself.”

“Thanks man, I owe you.”

Tyler shakes his head. “You don’t owe me anything. Now seriously, go, and I don’t want to see your face until much later. Do me proud, man.”

“You are so weird.”

He laughs and then pauses. “Okay, but seriously.”
