“Dacen, seriously,” I groan. “What the fuck are you doing to me?”
He straightens up and slowly brushes his lips back and forth over mine. “Well, right now I’m trying to decide which way I want to get you off.”
There’s a wicked gleam in his eye, a look that says he wants to lick and suck me until I come apart at the seams, and God help me, I’m having a hard time remembering why I pushed so hard against this, against him, in the first place. Right now it’s such a fuzzy, distant, stupid memory.
“Hey buttface,” Rylee shouts through the closed door after pounding on it like she’s trying to break it in half. “Aunt Lily says to tell you it’s time for lunch.”
Dacen chuckles quietly. When he tries to pull away I dip my tongue inside his mouth and stroke his tongue with mine. Rylee knocks again, louder this time. I huff and pull back enough to turn my head. “I heard you the first time, brat.”
“Don’t take too long or Uncle Nathan’s gonna eat all the tacos. You know, the tacos that you—”
“Rylee!” I interrupt her. “Get lost! We’ll be down in a minute.” She snickers on the other side of the door but thankfully stops running her mouth. Dacen sits up in my lap and blinks a few times. I bring his mouth back to mine as Rylee’s footsteps fade away and he sinks against me and into the kiss, but then shakes himself and pulls back.
“I distinctly heard tacos mentioned.” I nod and grab his chin. This kiss lasts all of five seconds before he pulls away again. “Tacos, Ryne.” His stomach growls, punctuating his short statement.
“Okay, okay. Tacos first, then orgasms.”
Dacen leans in and smiles against my lips. “That’s basically my perfect day.”
* * *
“I’m officially stuffed,”Dacen declares, shoving his plate to the center of the picnic table and wiping his mouth on a napkin.
I made an executive decision: he and I were eating outside because Rylee and Lily kept sneaking me not-so-subtle winks and stares while we dished up our food. There’s no way in hell I was going to sit through an entire meal with them acting like that. It would put me in an early grave.
“I have never seen someone eat so many tacos in one sitting before, and that’s saying something because I’m friends with Evan. Where did you put all that food? I’ve seen, touched, and tasted almost every inch of your body, Dacen. You’re all lean muscle. Where the hell does it go?”
He blushes but then smirks. “I work it off, same as you. Although I definitely have a bit of a food baby going right now.” Dacen lifts his shirt and rubs his stomach.
“I know some things you could do to work it off if you need any ideas.”
A grin lights up his face but he shakes his head. “Wayyyyyy too full for that right now.” He puts an elbow on the table and rests his cheek on his hand. The innocent look on his face is suspiciously innocent. I raise my brow and cock my head to the side, resisting the urge to cross my arms over my chest. “So the tacos for lunch, were they a coincidence?”
I scratch my head and look out into the yard. There’s nothing between here and the fence that would serve as a valid distraction, so I turn and look toward the house. “How long can you stay? We could watch a movie or something, you know, while you digest.”
Dacen smirks and sits up, pressing both of his palms flat against the top of the picnic table. “What was that you said to me recently? ‘I may drive a Ford, but I recognize a dodge when I see one.’”
I chuckle and shake my head. “Well, you don’t drive a Ford so it doesn’t have the same ring to it when you say it.”
“The point still stands.” My glare once again does nothing. In fact, it has the opposite effect, like he takes pleasure in my current discomfort. “To answeryourquestion, Ryne, I’ve got all day. So I will pester youall dayuntil you answer me.”
Smug bastard.
A breeze tries to steal our napkins, but I grab them before they’re whisked away into the wind and set our empty plates on top to hold them in place. Dacen glances around the backyard and his face lights up again when he sets his sights on the old trampoline. We rarely use it but it’s still in good condition.
“Dude, no. You just ate like ten pounds of tacos. You’re not jumping on the trampoline. I’m not cleaning up puke.”
He hops up and turns toward me. “I don’t want to jump on it. I want to lie down on it. I’m full and it’s nice out.” I stare at him like he’s crazy because right now, he’s crazy. “Oh, come on, Ryne. Take the stick out of your ass just this once and come on the trampoline with me.”
I scowl but stand up and follow, then hoist myself up onto it after him. “Well, this is SUPER exciting,” I tease in a sarcastically upbeat voice.
Dacen shoves me to my back and then lies down beside me. We rest quietly for a few minutes. I joked earlier about tacos and then orgasms, but so far today there has been a shit load of tacos and exactly zero orgasms. Yet I’m oddly not disappointed. It’s kind of nice hanging out. Not that I would turn down orgasms.
Dacen reaches straight up in the air above his body and frames a puffy white cloud with his hands. “That cloud looks like a dick.”
I snort and choke on my own spit, coughing harshly a few times, then suck in a deep breath. Once I can breathe normally again I look up. If you squint it really does look like a giant puffy white dick. God or Mother Nature or whatever has a strange sense of humor. Dacen props his head back on his arms and crosses one leg over the other. When he speaks again it’s in a deceptively calm voice and he doesn’t look at me.
“So am I right in stating you no longer despise me?”
