He looks at me intensely in the darkness and says, "Are you sure?"

"Very," I say, wrapping my legs around his waist as he carries me toward the cabin.

Reaching the door, I stretch to the keypad, giggling as he balances me while I punch in the code. Once inside, Floyd gently places me on the floor, and the two of us begin to strip. When he's down to just his boxers, I can't help but begin to explore his furry chest with my fingers, lips and tongue, twirling it around his hardening nipple. He moans out and lifts me once again, carrying me into the back bedroom and playfully tossing me down on the bed.

I wriggle out of my bra while he slides my panties off, and before I know it, his hungry tongue is greeting my throbbing pussy. He swirls and sucks my clit, but when he slides a couple of fingers into my wet warmth, I am not long for the world. My body bucks against the mattress as I come, crying out in the quiet room, and clawing at Floyd's shoulders until he is on top of me.

I kick his boxers off with my feet. The mountain man rises on his knees, stroking his cock as he looks down at me with a fiery heat behind his eyes, and slaps my pussy with his length. He then spreads my thighs open with his rough hands, teasing me before finally pushing his way in with a loud groan. My pussywalls clench in a delightfully painful way as my back arches, taking all of him inside.

Leaning down, Floyd presses his scratchy lips against mine, and I wrap my legs and arms around him. Our bodies move in sync as one. His thrusts quicken, and I dig my fingernails into his back as I feel him tense up before calling out my name as he comes above me.

We slip under the covers, and Floyd draws me against his chest. Our breathing slows as we lie tangled together until sleep finally claims us both.

Waking up in Floyd's arms was incredible. I stand, dumfounded, in the shower, feeling sad it's only temporary.

Once dried off, Floyd washes up while I pick out something to throw on. Before I have a chance to change, however, I hear a loud rap at the front door. Wrapped in a towel, I peek out the side window and see Aunt Gertrude standing on the step, looking perturbed. I open the door partway.

"Hi, Aunt Gertrude. Are you okay?"

"You left your shawl at the wedding," she says, sounding irritated.

"Oh, thank you, Auntie," I say, taking it from her through the small opening of the door.

"Lexi, whose truck with California plates is in the driveway?" She says with a sniff.

"The what?" I say, realizing that Floyd's truck is sitting right there next to my car.

"Spit it out, Lexi!" Aunt Gertrude snaps, and I almost burst out laughing at the way she talks to me like I'm a child, even though I'm a freaking 44-year-old woman.

"It's just the rental owner's truck. He typically keeps it here, I guess," I quickly say.

My aunt narrows her eyes, looking at me suspiciously. But before she can say anything, a deep voice behind me says, "Who's at the door?"

Aunt Gertrude's eyes light up as she pushes open the door, revealing Floyd standing behind me, dripping wet with a towel around his waist.

"Good morning, Floyd. I was just bringing your girlfriend's shawl to her. I'll leave you two be," she says, giving me a smile before heading back to her Cadillac.

I turn toward the hulking mountain man and chuckle.

"Yet again, you've saved me."

Floyd grabs me in my robe, pulling me close and presses his bearded lips against mine. The two of us stare at each other for a beat, then both start talking at the same time.

"I wish we lived closer," I say.

"I'd love to get to know you better. Too bad you're all the way in Phoenix."

"It sucks," I say as he fingers my damp hair.

"It does suck."

My head breaks the surface; the late summer sun warms my face. I take a moment to breathe before diving under for one last lap in my merman form, then drag myself out of the water to start my day.

I grab the towel I left at the shore and dry my hair as I walk up to the back deck. My phone lights up with a notification from Lexi, and I can't help but smile. It's been over two months since our fake-dating weekend. And even though she's back in Phoenix, we've been texting nonstop, morning to night, with the occasional phone or video call thrown in.
