“OK. So it’s done. We don’t tell him just yet. Let’s get it done because he’d likely not let you take his place.” Enzo finished his drink while I finished mine. We sat in silence for a long time with fresh glasses before he finally spoke again.

“Did you check out any houses today?”

“Yeah. A few.” I pulled out my phone.

He got up and sat next to me on the couch as I showed him some of the houses I was interested in.

And that was it.

A somber, house-hunting affair, but I knew in my heart I had to reach out to Rosalie before I took Cole’s place.

She needed to know I wasn’t some bum kid anymore who was drowning in his own shit.

Anson kissed his and Evan’s rings on my finger as we lay in bed that night.

I smiled at the gesture.

“We’re almost done with the tour,” he said softly. “I was thinking maybe we could plan the wedding.”

“Mm, what do you have in mind?”

“Whatever you want, LeeLee. I’m just grateful to be chosen.”

I went up on my elbow and stared down at him. “I will always choose you.”

He smiled at that. “And I will always choose you.”

He pulled me down for a gentle kiss, and I smiled against his lips as we broke apart.

“Klaus actually talked to me about marrying,” I said.

Anson raised his brows at that. “Yeah? About time.”

I laughed softly
