“Spoiler, Scott, she writes it after she fucks you tonight. You know, because I do it better.” Anson winked at me.

“You’re a fucking asshole, man. You know I hate your ass, right?” I shook my head at him.

“Feeling is mutual,” Anson said.

“No fighting,” Rosalie cut in. “Please?”

I shot Anson a sour look before pouring more wine. I should have brought four bottles because I’d need to be seriously hammered to get through a night with him.

We drank more, and before long, I was definitely feeling the wine, and so were they.

“How did it happen?” I asked, feeling way too tipsy, but it was likely the best time to have the conversation.

“Rosalie and I?” Anson asked.

“Yes.” I nodded. I had the basics of their night together from Evan, but I needed to hurt my own feelings. I wanted to know all the details.

Rosalie looked at Anson and smiled.

“Love at first sight,” Anson murmured, his eyes glassy.

“Yeah, man, me too. So anyway, when did you actually fuck her first?” I asked.

“Uh, her wedding night,” Anson said. “I shared her with Evan.”

I scowled. “So… you guys never did anything before? Like when we were with her?”

“No.” Anson shook his head at the same time Rosalie did. “I never fucked your girl when she was with you, Cole. I definitely wanted to, though.”

Rosalie slapped him, making him laugh and draw her close. I watched as he kissed her slowly. Deeply. Gently. He kissed her like she was everything to him.

I swallowed hard.

Even after all these years, it was hard for me to watch.

He cradled her face with one hand, the other moving to her waist to hold her.

I looked on, my heart in my throat. I’d never felt like a third fucking wheel before, but there I was, the odd man out. I was outside looking in on my girl being loved by someone else.

Anson reached out with the hand that had been on Rosalie’s waist and grasped my hand as he continued to kiss her.

I swallowed and stared down at his hand in mine. He gave me a gentle tug, never breaking free from Rosalie.

I went, my pulse pounding in my ears. He didn’t stop leading me forward until I was right beside him. He broke the kiss off and shifted aside for me.

He was letting me have a chance.

I looked over at him to make sure this was real.

He nodded at me. “Take your chance, Scott.”

I’d waited five long, painful years for this.

My lips crushed against hers, and she fell into the kiss just like she used to.

My tongue thrashed against hers. I gripped her hips tightly and dragged her to me so she was straddling my lap. My fingers were in her hair. Her waist. Cradling her face.

I knew we’d drunk a lot, but we were adults who knew exactly what we were doing.
