“I was fucking high and tripping out, Cole. I let you suck my dick or whatever, and I was going to fuck your ass. Do you really fucking think I was in my right mind?”
He stared at me with a stricken look on his face.
I breathed out. “I’m sorry. I just… please. One problem at a time.”
“I didn’t know that bringing our girl home was a fucking problem.” He got up and shoved his food away.
“Cole, come on. Don’t?—”
“I get time heals all wounds,” he said, staring me down. “I get it, man, and maybe it healed yours. Maybe it healed E’s. But I’m not either of you, and all time did was make me realize how much I love Rosalie and how there’s no way in hell I can live without her. So you’re either going to join me in getting her back, or you can fuck off.”
I stared at him, taking in the way his chest heaved with his words.
“I talked to Church. About the contract.”
His breathing picked up as he stared at me.
“E has agreed to take your place on the contract. We’d renegotiate the terms so E and I would forfeit her forever, and you’d be free to pursue her.”
He stared at me, his mouth opening and closing.
“Say something,” I said.
“Are you fucking nuts?” he roared. “Are you crazy? Have you lost your fucking mind?”
“You love her, Cole. You need her. You’re going nuts living without her. E and I decided this was what was best?—”
“What’s fucking best is we all love her! All of us, Enzo. Not just me! What the fuck? How dare you two pricks go behind my back and do this shit! That’s not what I want at all! I want my fucking family back, man! All of us. If I could bring Foxy back from the dead to join us, I’d do that too! Can’t you see this shit is killing me? What the fuck? Fuck you, man.” He stormed to the front door.
“Where are you going?” I demanded, following him.
“I’m going back to my fucking house. The one you parted with. I’m going to fucking work all night on fixing shit. If you’re not with me, then you’re against me. If that’s the case, call up one of your club whores and fuck them if you’re over Rosalie. See how that makes you feel, you fucking chump.” He pulled the door open and left, slamming it hard behind him.
I tugged at my hair, feeling insanely frustrated.
But one thing rang true.
Maybe I did need to just fuck someone new. Maybe that would help me get over all the shit in my head.
If not, maybe it would put things into perspective. Maybe it would end my fucking pain.
I flopped onto the couch with a fifth of whiskey and groaned.
I really needed a break from everything.
I drank down a good amount in very little time before my phone buzzed. I opened it to see a message from Jade.
Jade: We’re all out! You should come with!
Another selfie of her looking damn good came through. Short black dress. Tits pushed up. I knew the message was meant for someone else, but fuck it. I hadn’t said anything about the last message, but I’d heard her talking to another girl in the office about Eric not coming out and how she’d text him. She must have drunk messaged me instead and hadn’t even realized it yet.
I sent her a text back, my vision blurry.
Enzo: You’re messaging the wrong person. You do look nice, though.
Her text came back quickly.
Jade: Omg. I’m so sorry! I meant to text Eric. You should come out, too, though! You’re always working so hard. You deserve a night off :)
