“You can’t walk away? Are you worried about where you’ll live? I can give you money for the required amount at the apartment complex you want to live in. The decision is not whether you want to be my Little girl or go back to those creatures in your old apartment.”

“No. I can’t leave you. I want to be here with you. Not because my apartment sucked, but because I love you,” she blurted, then slapped her hand over her mouth.

Pulling her hand away, Rocky tilted her chin up and kissed her with so much emotion, she felt her heart skip a beat. Melissa clung to his T-shirt, holding on for dear life. When he lifted his head, they were both breathing hard.

“Wow!”

“Wow, indeed. I want you to be very honest with me, Little girl. What are you wanting your Daddy to be or do?”

She pursed her lips as she looked at him. Gathering her bravery, Melissa answered, “I want my Daddy to be onlyinterested in me. I won’t do well if there are any others involved.”

“Like if we had a Mommy join us?”

“Yes. But mainly, I can’t share you with anyone else. I don’t want to be a Little on the side.”

“I agree to our relationship being monogamous. I wouldn’t want it any other way. What else?”

“I need a stern Daddy, but not one that like orders me around. I want to do what I want to do sometimes,” she told him.

“So, you want a part-time Daddy? One that’s a Daddy when it’s convenient and then he’s not involved when you want to do something other than what he wants?”

“That doesn’t sound right. I want a full-time Daddy. It’s just—having an opportunity to choose what I want and when is important.”

“Isn’t that the definition of a part-time Daddy?” he asked, holding her gaze with his.

Melissa opened her mouth as she looked at him. After a few seconds of trying desperately to come up with a response that countered his statement, her jaw snapped closed.

“Who makes the decisions? Daddy or Lissy?”

“Daddy, but…”

“Do you think if you talked to me and told me how you feel that I’d listen and consider everything you told me?” Rocky asked.

“Of course you would,” she rushed to agree.

“Did you talk to me about what you wanted to do?”

“I told you I wanted to go to work tomorrow.”

Rocky nodded. “And how did I answer?”

“That you needed to see how my arm looked under the bandage.”

“Does that seem unreasonable?”

“No,” she answered, shaking her head.

“Did I tell you there was no way you were going to work tomorrow?”

“No,” she whispered. “Maybe I over-reacted?”

“What would you want your dream Daddy to do when you make a mistake? Or if you refuse to do what Daddy tells you to do?”

“Punish me,” she whispered even softer.

“Why?”

“Because that means he cares,” she said, crossing her fingers he’d agree with her.
