Not with Kobi.
The attraction I’d once felt has vanished, replaced by a strange sense of unease. I see the hungry need in Kobi’s eyes. It’s as if he’s already decided I belong to him and my opinion nolonger matters. And he wants to fuck me, right here, right now. He doesn’t care that I’ve told him I’m promised to another man.
All he sees is what he wants.
And that scares me more than I care to admit.
I strut to the door and place my hand on the knob.
“Return to Italy with me, Serenity.”
“I told you, good night,” I bite out.
The door opens, forcing us to take a step back. Angel comes into view. “There are guests asking for you, boss.”
I nod. I don’t have my phone, nor a Glock on me. Even though there are several weapons around my office. I don’t want to kill him. If he ever crosses the line again, I will.
SERENITY
I can’t believe I have to live under the same roof as Nico Pitucco, my ex-boyfriend. I blow out a breath as the SUV rolls through the black wrought-iron gates. He’s my future husband. Due to my situation, I’ll take matters into my own hands. The only way out of this marriage is death. Nico will die. If I don’t follow through, he’ll dig into my life and want to know who Madden’s father is. I can’t have that.
Bets opens the rear passenger door. I climb out and strut to the front double doors. This is my first time at his Delaware home. I’d only been to his house in Jersey.
“Ms. Cichello, welcome,” the housekeeper says.
“My name is Esmeralda. I’ll direct you to Mr. Pitucco’s en suite, then I’ll be happy to give you a tour of the mansion.”
“Esmeralda, it’s nice to meet you. I take it a home of this size has two wings.”
Her brows rise. “Yes. But Mr. Pitucco gave strict instructions to have your belongings taken to his suite.”
I take her hand in mine. “Which way to his suite?”
“The double doors down the hall to the left.”
“That will be all, Esmeralda. If I need anything, I’ll find you.” I smile sweetly.
My team and I watch as Esmeralda saunters out of the balcony doors and into the garden. I turn on my heel.
“Angel, locate the largest bedroom in the other wing. Have my belongings moved into the space you choose.”
“Got it, boss.”
I flash a wicked grin. “I’ll be over soon.”
Strutting up the steps, I rub my hands together. “Oh, Nico, the things I have planned for you.”
I tap the earpiece as I step into his room. “Standby,” I say.
“Understood,” Luck replies.
I push open the black double doors. The bedroom steals my breath.
Dark gray ceiling's beams stretch overhead against matching walls, giving the room a rich, masculine feel. Light gray hardwood floors soften the space, while three oversized crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow that bounces off every polished surface.
Glass doors line the far wall, opening onto a private balcony, just like the one at his old house.
My gaze drifts to the oversized mirror built into the wall beside an oblong dresser, then farther into the suite.
