“You all talk about your sex lives?” I ask.
“Absolutely. It’s so freeing.” Carmen flashes a wicked grin. “I can’t wait until our next zoom call.”
I clear my throat. “Does Samantha share her sexual experiences with Jacob?”
The girls laugh again.
“Yes, she is the ring leader,” Sierra admits.
I place a hand over my cleavage. “When is the next zoom call?”
The wives run around laughing.
“We got another one,” Lexis yells.
They slap hands happy with themselves.
Claire grins. “I was the same way. You will love the zoom calls.”
“I thought it was crazy that the wives got together and discussed their sex lives, then I joined the wives in Sierra’s chamber.” Kinsley flashes a wicked grin. “I love the zoom calls and the get togethers.”
“After I drop this baby, I’m definitely coming to Sierra’s chamber.” Baylor grins.
“Sierra, I want to come too,” I blurt out.
“We’d love to have you.” Sierra smiles.
“Thank you,” I reply.
My gaze meets Lexis’s. “I had no idea you had your own catering company. The food is delicious.”
A big smile lifts her mahogany cheeks. “I’m happy we could accommodate your wedding on such short notice.”
I throw my arms around her neck. “I know you’re a busy woman. I’m very grateful you did this for me.”
She squeezes me tightly. “Sierra told you. We ride for each other.”
I step back. “I’m so happy to be a part of this family,” I say honestly.
They clap and cheer.
“We’re happy to have you,” Sierra admits.
“We look forward to your Donna ceremony,” Emoni adds.
“Me too.” A smile lifts my cheeks.
How did I get so lucky to be welcomed into a sisterhood?
For the first time I don’t feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. When I return from my honeymoon, I’ll tell the wives everything.

MY WEDDING DAY
My wife. My wife. My wife. Serenity is finally my wife. The woman thought she could escape me. If I had to chain her to the bed and have an officiant, marry us, I would’ve. Bringing the glass of whiskey to my lips, I smile as I watch Serenity interact with the mafia wives. Colby Jack has gone underground. I’ll continue my search for him when my wife and I return from our honeymoon. Serenity has initiated exactly three kisses since returning to the U.S. That’s unlike her. It shows she’s trying to make our relationship work. Guess my brother was right; Kinsley’s talk with Serenity went well. I think back to standing across from Serenity at the altar. She looked like a trapped fawn searching for a way out. I hate how her trauma claws at the surface, trying to drag her under. I wouldn’t let her dark past hijack our wedding.
