She pushes against my chest. “No, I can’t do this anymore.”

Serenity storms out of the hotel room, her bodyguards on her heels.

Chapter Twenty-Two

NICO

ONE YEAR LATER

Isit outside Serenity’s gate, waiting for either her or one of her staff to respond to the intercom.

“May I help you, sir?” a voice asks.

“It’s Nico Pitucco. I’m here to see Serenity.”

“Please hold,” the staff member replies.

A tense pause follows.

“She said she doesn’t want to see you.”

“Tell her I have verified information. Only I can give her.”

I knew getting in wouldn’t be easy, especially after that hotel incident—when she blew a woman’s brains out. That’s why I waited a full year before coming tonight, armed with information she’d want.

The wrought-iron gates swing open. I drive the silver Rolls-Royce Wraith down the paved driveway, my men close behind. Collecting everything I’ve brought for Serenity, I circle the hood and knock firmly on the front door.

Serenity answers, smiling. Shit, does she have a guy over?

If she had, Nolan would’ve told me. Not like that would’ve stopped me from coming over.

Those lips. Glossed red and begging to be wrapped around my cock. Her hair’s pulled back loose, thick waves secured in a ponytail that sways when she moves. Those lavender yoga pants? Criminal. Sculpted to her ass like they were poured on. All that ass has my fingers tingling, ready to own every inch of her body again. Remind her who she belongs to.

Fuck.

The white tee, stretches thin, drawing my eyes to the words scribbled in bold font ‘I believe in throwing hands’.

That she does.

“I told you we couldn’t do this anymore.”

If she really meant that, I wouldn’t have gotten through the gate. Serenity could only stay away from me for so long. And vice versa.

I step past her and peek to the left into the sitting room. “Having a girls’ night, I see. Hello, Melissa, Noré, Nila, Vi, Pera, and Laneesha.”

“He knows all our names. Impressive,” Laneesha nods, lifting her glass filled with red wine.

“Hey Nico,” the rest of the ladies call out.

Serenity turns to face me.

I pull Serenity against my chest. My lips press against the shell of her ear. I can feel her friends staring at us intently.

“Chill with your friends. I have some bets to sort out. I promise to give you the important information later.”

“Later?” she questions.

“Trust when I say I have something you really want.”
