Girls glance my way, giggling and whispering behind flirty smiles as they walk by, hoping to get my attention.
But my gaze remains fixed on the door. When she steps inside, the world around me blurs into nothingness.
Serenity’s gray eyes lock with mine, and my heart pounds fiercely in my chest.
She halts, swallowing nervously. “Are you stalking me?”
Without hesitation, I grasp her hand and draw her near.
“I owe you an apology for Saturday. Fighting with your dad right in front of you that was wrong. It won’t happen again.” Her eyes soften, a crack in the armor she’s held up. “Apology accepted,” she whispers. I trace her cheek and press my lips against hers forceful, possessive. A kiss that marks my claim. Murmurs of surprise and admiration echo down the hallway as we stand there. I pull away, gaze locked on hers. “You belong to me, Serenity.” A shadow of doubt flickers across her face. “I’m yours.”
That’s all I needed. I’ve got her now. The finish line is in sight.
From that moment on, I shed the hard exterior of a future mafia boss and became the boyfriend she deserves. I shower her with jewelry. I fill her locker with her favorite treats. I ensure the cheerleaders always sit with the football team at lunch. And whenever I can, I steal a kiss in front of Rod. His twisted expression when he sees her in my arms only intensifies my craving to devour my beautiful woman whole.
Chapter Five
SERENITY
The boy I had a crush on since ninth grade is mine. Nico Pitucco is pushy and all-consuming.
We’ve kissed like we couldn’t get enough of each other on several occasions. He’s never once pushed his hand between my thighs and felt how wet I was for him. I’m thankful he didn’t. I see the lust in his eyes and how hard his dick is every time he kisses me. His self-control is remarkable.
I’m so tired of dreaming about him doing all the naughty things to me. I want his mouth all over my body now.
I’m ushered through the wrought-iron gate by armed guards and follow the winding paved driveway and pull up before the expansive mansion. Additional bodyguards in dark suits patrol the perimeter with the same vigilance as those at my own home. As a mafia princess, I’m never far from protection. Still, I insisted my guards stay outside the gate—much to Javier and Fitz’s displeasure.
The massive black double doors swing open, revealing the butler as I step out of my yellow Lamborghini.
He greets me with a polite nod. “Good afternoon, Ms. Cichello.”
“Good afternoon,” I answer.
“Come in.” he gestures to the oversized vestibule. My eyes move around the bright white and black marble ceiling.
“I’ll take your jacket.” He assists me as I shrug off my navy jacket.
“Nico will be with you shortly. Please have a seat in the sitting room. Can I get you anything?”
“A bottled water, please.” I offer a small smile.
“Right away.” He bows slightly and moves away.
It’s my first visit to Nico’s house. In the underworld, kids like us don’t throw parties at home; we party at our friends’ instead.
The butler soon returns, placing the water bottle into my hand just as I stand fixated on a family portrait of Nico, his older brother Nick, sister Natalia, and their parents.
I gulp half the bottle of water, trying to push down the nervousness.
Strong arms wrap around me from behind. “I’m happy you’re here.”
I can feel his erection along my spine as his lips press against my neck. A shiver runs through my body.
“Where is everyone?” I ask, my voice a bit unsteady.
“My brother and sister are off at college, and my parents are away for the weekend.”
I already knew they were gone, which is why I chose today to come over. I’m surprised he doesn’t call me out on it.
