“I like all of you,” she countered.
He chuckled.“Well, just to be clear I love all of you.”
“Oh yeah?”She grinned.
“Very yeah.”
She laughed and leaned her head on his shoulder, her bangs covering her eyes.He kissed her head, reveling in this moment of sweetness.
“Oh, that’s perfect.”
He peeked across, saw Ronnie had her camera out.“Um…?”
“Oh, I hope you don’t mind.I do a spot of wedding photography on the side, and you two just make the most adorable couple that I couldn’t help but take a few pictures.I hope you don’t mind.”
“Am I in them?”Bella asked.
“Sure, I got a few with you in too, sweetie.”Ronnie showed her the camera screen.
“Oh, Mommy, you look like a princess.”
“I feel like one,” Gen said, looking at him.
“Does that make me the handsome prince?”he asked hopefully.
She put her arms around his neck and leaned into him, assurance and joy sparkling in every inch of her.“Absolutely.”
EPILOGUE
“And so, with everything moving so fast lately, I haven’t really had the chance to say thank you.So, thank you.”Kyle smiled at the screen of faces.
“Such an awesome result,” Zac said.
“I can’t believe someone could be so vindictive,” Tom said.
“Not everyone is as sweet-natured as you,” Franklin teased.
“Apparently not.So she’s doing okay?”
Kyle nodded.“Loving working there.And it’s funny but since she’s become senior resident, somehow her shifts have become all the ones she’s wanted.”
“So strange.”
“And Mitch, I know we’ve said this before, but I don’t think we could ever thank you enough for saying something to Liam Darcy.He’s the GOAT.You are too.”
Mitch shook his head.“Don’t let Britta hear that.She already thinks I think that, just because I passed my youth leader qualification so quickly.”
“Noted.We won’t tell Britta.”
“So, I’m hearing a lot of this ‘we’ business,” Chris said.“What’s going on?Are we getting invites to the wedding?”
“Sorry guys.”Kyle waggled the fourth finger of his left hand, where a brand-new platinum ring sat proudly.“We decided not to wait, and got married quietly, at our church with just the pastors and our parents.”
“No way!”
“Wow.Congrats, man.”
