He whispered, "I ready for you.... You ready for me?"
"Yes. Please love me," she said before admitting, "I missed our lovemaking this morning."
"I, too. Love you, always," he whispered against her ear. "No one...else. Only you."
"But—" Even as they strained together, reaching and climbing toward that high plateau of utter sensual appeasement, she whispered, "What about the other women?"
"No other I ever love. Do not leave...me."
"But—"
"Do not want...another."
And, then it happened: together their exertions brought her to the ultimate in carnal pleasure, and she danced with him, tripping over the sensuous realm of pleasure. She was shuddering in the aftermath of desire when she uttered against his shoulder, "Then take no other wife."
And, although they had paused for a moment before resuming their passion, they were still entwined together when he began to laugh, softly at first, and then with more vigor, until his laughter seemed to be uncontrollable. Although he was still safely nestled within her warmth, and although they were both still breathing heavily, he yet brought her head and shoulders in toward him as he whispered, "You not wish...help with...much work? I thought...I thought—"
"No! Not if you mean by 'help' to add another wife to our family...."
He was still within her inner warmth when he said between low chuckles, "I not...very smart. Thought you upset I only medicine man...not rich...maybe not able...have...two wives. No second wife...more work for...you. I love only you. If...you not want...other wives, I not do."
"You won't?" He was beginning to move and push within her warmth again, and she met his gyrations with those of her own.
"I won't."
"Do you promise?"
"I promise."
As though they had become renewed with life, their love turned vigorous. It was as if silently they were renewing their commitment to one another, both physically and spiritually. And, as he led her again toward the ultimate thrill of marital pleasure, she suddenly asked, "But, what if your brother is no longer living, and his wife is then a widow; wouldn't you have to marry her?"
As he thrust within her inner warmth and bore against her, he whispered, "There other...ways...I...help...her without making her...wife."
"Really? You would find another way to help her? You wouldn'thave tomarry her?" she asked, even while he continued to lead her again to the peak of their exquisite pleasure.
He murmured, "I not lie. If you not want, I not do."
All at once, Laylah felt tears welling up in her eyes, even while her body was straining against him. And, as pleasure overwhelmed her once again, she cried out in relief, not only because of the pleasure of love, but also because her worries were suddenly leaving her.
He was not long in following her. And, as he let loose his seed within her, he whispered, "I...glad you not want second wife. Not easy...for me. I not rich in ponies. But, you sad?"
"No, I'm not sad. My tears are because I love you so much. I don't ever wish you to marry another woman so long as we are married." She wiggled a little against him, causing him to gift her with a masculine groan. Only then did she murmur, "I forgot to tell you: my religion forbids a man to marry more than one woman."
"Your God...forbids?" He sighed against her shoulder.
She nodded.
"But, other white men...marry into tribe. Many wives, they have."
"They are wrong to do so."
She was still crying and he was laughing when he said, "We both...show emotion very...bad. Come, make love...to...me again, but maybe... not against tree. We...try...make love beautiful again."
"Yes, please."
As he began to disentangle his body from hers, he brought her hands up over his head and untied her bindings. And, as he released her legs from around him and her feet once again touched the ground, he began to laugh heartily, and, as one chuckle followed after another, it appeared he might never stop.
Still, he managed to say, "Love you...more now...after settle first fight. Feel...so close...because know who you are...better. Want make love...all time. Never stop."
