Sasha may hate the very foundation of what makes Lennon who she is, but there is no denying that she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’d even go out on a limb and say that same thing applies to Dominic and Sasha too.
Lennon has the kind of natural beauty that doesn’t need to be enhanced.
She moves like the best kept secret at midnight. Sin dressed up like divinity, and it’s fucking soul destroying knowing that it’s our scent match we have to break, because at the end of the day, none of that is enough to change her fate.
Now, I know nothing in life is ever simple. If it were, I’d have been granted a mate we actually get to keep. But no, we have to sacrifice her for the greater good. For Sasha.Everything we do is for Sasha. Our Alpha. For him to heal, if that’s even a possibility at this stage. Is there a chance that he might be too far gone? Yeah. I know that it's been a long time since we watched his father’s body tumble off the edge of a boat and disappear into shark infested waters. A long time since we watched as the beasts tore the abuser’s body apart, erasing the man who causedso much damage to the one I love. But does time ever help with shit like that? I’m not so sure.
I had never killed a man before that day.
Turns out, it was surprisingly easy considering we had good fucking reason to do it. The best kind of abuser is the dead kind. Some people deserve clemency, some deserve to swim at the bottom of the fucking ocean. I went with the most suitable option.
Deciding not to poke the broody, drop dead gorgeous Omega any further, I rush through getting ready, giving Sasha a saucy wink when I catch his attention. The grumpy Alpha hardly looks impressed with my slight baiting, which is understandable given the circumstances. But where’s the harm in a little teasing? I’d offer my ass up to him on a platter again like I did yesterday, but I hardly think that our new coach would be all that impressed at the show. Or maybe I can convince her to join us. Although I don’t think it matters in the slightest, she could deny me. Deny us. It’s a pointless argument. She was mine the moment she walked through the locker room door, her head high and scent smelling like mine. All curves and serious business. I may be a Beta, but that doesn’t mean I am not a possessive fucker over the things I claim for myself.
Dominic refuses to touch the jam that my mother ensures is well stocked in the pantry for me whenever she visits. The last time he did, he ended up with a very sore asshole. Serves him right for touching my shit. Still, some lessons need to be drilled into you through experience, and judging by the way Dominic walks these days, I’d say he’s well the fuck aware of that now.
I hardly think my ogling of the new coach has been as inconspicuous as I intended it to be. Nor is the hard on I’ve been sporting since the very first direction she gave when I stepped onto the ice. It’s a very welcome change to be bossed around by an Omega. It’s kind of kinky. Even if it’s only temporary. Soon enough, all of this will change. She just doesn’t know it yet. At least not until I get her sweet ass alone, maybe in a storage closet. Who knows, I’m undecided. Might even try my luck with her in the locker room after practice. All I know is, my teeth have been throbbing painfully, desperate for a bite out of her.
Sasha is right to despise her. She is a fucking vixen. A temptress sent to lure us into her cave before she sinks her claws into our flesh. Too bad we are already one step ahead of her.
I smack the puck straight through one of our goalies, Dennis’s legs, cheering obnoxiously the moment it hits the back of the net.
End of training skirmishes are my favorite part of the day. The moment I can lose myself to the game and become one with the ice. Turning back toward the team gathered at the bench, my eyes immediately lock onto Lennon’s. She’s already watching me. Something I have caught her doing on multiple occasions these past few hours. Makes me wonder if she even realizes she’s doing it. Then again, maybe she does, because our new coach hasn’t stopped glaring at Sasha either. More than most coaches would bother with, anyway. But if there’s one thing I’ve noticed, it's that the stubborn bastard hasn’t taken his eyes off her, either. I’ve watched him make mental notes of everything she does. The way she moves. That little scrunch between her eyebrows when she tries to work through a play that doesn’t pan out the way she intended. The way she interacts with the rest of the team.
The last one gets his attention more than anything. Every smile she gives. Every joke she laughs at. Every second she spends talking to literally anyone with a cock. He notices it all, though he’d die before he’d ever admit it. Sasha can snarland growl all he likes. He can say he wants her broken and bleeding. But his eyes tell a completely different story. I know him too well. While there’s a fine line between love and hate, at least that’s what I’ve heard, I doubt hatred is what has him memorizing the habits of the one woman he claims he wants to ruin.
His obsession, the one that is screaming at him to own her, is a hell of a lot louder than whatever else he’s got going on inside his head where Lennon is concerned. And he’d rip my head off if I told him that he’s not nearly as convincing as he’d like to think he is. Still, he’s as stubborn as they come, so we’ll see his plan through. No matter how much it fucks with Dominic and me. Because we made our choice years ago. We are Sasha’s. And nothing and no one will get in the way of that fact. Which means, there is no forever when it comes to our Omega. Either way, she will be ours regardless of how long it’s for.
Ours to play with.
Ours to own.
Ours to fuck until she knows nothing but us.
Her blood to bleed pack Ars Mortis. All in due time.
Lennon gives a small nod as we make our way over to the bench. Dominic tosses me a bottle of water, shooting me a wink.
“Good,” our coach pipes up, drawing everyone’s attention, “Holden, that was an impressive play. You had great control of the puck. Just make sure you keep watching what the other players around you are doing. Toby almost knocked you into the boards because you lost sight of your blindside.”
I bristle, my back stiffening as the Omega hits me with the correction. My eyes narrow as I watch her continue around the room before eventually landing on Toby.
“Toby, next time you find yourself in a situation as you did with Holden, don’t hold back. Show some gravel. Use that strength I know you have.”
She chews her lip for a moment, like she’s trying to remember something, before turning her attention back to the Alpha, who is practically preening under the attention he’s receiving.
Fucking simp.
“Do you remember when you played the Hawks game last season?”
Toby frowns for a moment, the shit-for-brains racking the pea-sized organ in his overgrown head before eventually nodding. He doesn’t remember shit. But one look at his eager expression tells me he’ll be googling that game the second we leave here. Lennon smiles. “I want you to have that kind of confidence again. Don’t let anything get between you and that puck. If you have to flatten Holden to do your job, so be it.”
The team chuckles.
What. The. Fuck.
I stare at the Omega while the rest of the idiots around me laugh. My fucking scent match just gave another Alpha directions to put me on my ass.
Me. Holden fucking Woods.
