His lips skimmed my neck. “I know. I think that might mean we need to try again.”

Before we could get to that deliciousagain, my phone rang.

I sat up, grabbing my phone from the nightstand. “Hi, Dad,” I greeted, eager for news.

“We have a baby girl!” his voice boomed excitedly. My answering grin nearly split my face in two as Mason gave me a warm smile, no doubt hearing the news through the phone.

“How’s Steph? Did everything go okay? Should we come?” I fired off questions.

“We?” my dad asked in confusion. I hadn’t even realized I’d said it.

“Oh, um, Mason is here. He surprised me by driving out.”

“That’s good to hear, Ellie.” My dad’s voice was gentle. “We’re looking forward to meeting him. And everything went fine here, but Steph and Dylan are exhausted. We’re going to stay a bit longer and then I think they’d love to see you in the morning.”

“Sounds good,” I agreed, eager to meet my niece but understanding that the new parents wanted some time together. “I can make dinner tonight,” I offered, knowing they’d be exhausted when they got home.

“That would be great, sweetheart. We’ll see you tonight.”

“Did you hear all that?” I asked Mason after I’d hung up.

“Pretty much.” He laughed. “Your father isn’t soft spoken.”

“Definitely not.” I snorted. “You up for helping me a bit around here?” I quirked a brow.

“Only if you feed me first. I’m starving,” he groaned dramatically.

“Oh, I’m sorry, has it been over an hour?” I quipped with a grin.

He grabbed me, tickling my sides. “You had me working up an appetite.” He nipped at my neck.

“You complaining?” I demanded as I swung my leg over his side, straddling him.

“Definitely not,” he growled, reaching up to cup my breasts appreciatively. He took my hips, guiding them to move against his growing hardness.

“Again?” I breathed.

“Again,” he growled.

Chapter 12

MASON

“Gun,” I greeted as I watched Ellie lope around the corral on horseback. My girl was beautiful on any day, but now, her dark hair flowing out behind her, entire face lit up with joy, she was heartbreakingly gorgeous. I vowed to make sure she felt this kind of joy every day.

“Jackson, I’ve got eyes on your guy,” he replied. “And you’re not gonna like it.”

I fought to keep my expression composed as Ellie beamed over at me.

“Based on his credit card activity, not only is he in Colorado, he’s in Denver. I have Brick working on getting me the security camera feed from your girl’s building,” he explained, referring to the Royal Bloods MC member who’d installed her security system. “Theoretically, he could claim his card’s been stolen. I want proof he’s violating his restraining order so we can nail the motherfucker.”

My grip clenched my phone so tightly, I was surprised it didn’t crack. “Media attention probably drew the fucker out,” I growled.

“It’s likely,” Gunner agreed. “But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing,” he mused. “Assholes like this never really go away unless they’re forced to. Long as you’re ready for him—gives you a chance to end this.”

“Agreed,” I stated firmly. “Already have wheels in motion to take care of it. Just gotta convince Ellie to move in with me. This just gives me a solid excuse.”

“Good luck, brother,” he muttered knowingly. He’d fought a similar battle with my sister.
