“You are just as sexy, love.”
Then they settled down to cuddle and sleep. He caressed her arm for a while, then started thinking about Younger and JE. Though he should have been thinking about his special time with her while they did all their activities and stayed at the resort the next day.
She nestled her head against his chest and kissed him. “Quit thinking about Younger.”
Grayson chuckled and wrapped his arms around her tighter. “How did you know?”
Early the next morning, Kendra hurried out of bed, and Grayson smiled at her. “Are you excited about our trip?”
“You bet. I’m getting dressed, fixing us breakfast, and then packing for our trip,” she said, “after we have a shower.”
Grayson got out of bed and carried her into the bathroom, where they had another intimate shower.
Then they both dressed. “What’s for breakfast?” Grayson asked.
“Waffles and bacon?”
“Sounds great. I’ll make us some coffee and get us glasses of orange juice.”
While she was making the waffles and cooking the bacon, he did the rest, bringing out waffle syrup, butter, plates, and silverware.
The coffee was ready, and he placed glasses of orange juice at each place setting.
They finished eating, cleaned up, and then returned to the bedroom to pack what they needed for their fun activities.
“Do you have any steaks? I saw you have corn on the cob,” Grayson said.
“Yeah, steaks in the freezer, corn on the cob in the fridge. For dinner?”
“Yes.” He packed them up along with a couple of potatoes, brussels sprouts, a small tub of butter, and a package of rolls. “We can eat at the coffee shop for breakfast in the morning or make our own.”
“It’s our fun time. Let’s go to the coffee shop for our breakfast and lunch,” she said.
“We’re actually going to our cabin first, and then tomorrow we have our half day of the ropes course and whitewater rafting.”
“That sounds good. I thought we might be late getting in if we didn’t get up earlier and miss out on our activities.”
“No, it was planned this way.”
“The tickets are for the Glacier Highlines aerial ropes course for half a day. That includes ziplines and ropes course,” he said.
“I would love to do that as a grizzly.”
Grayson laughed. “We would turn the adventure into a photo op for tourists after they scrambled away to safety. And then we’ll do a half-day of whitewater rafting. The aerial adventure course has forty-seven treetop activities, including seventeen below, for anyone who doesn’t like heights. But they’re for everyone also. They have five adventure ziplines, rock wall climbing, an inflatable obstacle course, and a water slide.”
“You brought a swimsuit, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, I sure did. Not just for swimming at the cabin, but also for the whitewater raft trip. I saw some pictures of paddlers getting out and enjoying the cold water, but they said the river bottom was really rocky and that they should wear water shoes. We’re staying at the Forest Plateau condo,” Grayson said, while they parked there at the two-story rustic cabin.
The cabin they were staying in didn’t have views of any rope activity, so privacy was good.
They carried their bags into the cabin and admired the large windows in the kitchen and living room, soft light filtering in from the shady forest. The living room and kitchen featured an open layout, and a blue-and-brown, black forest-themed area rug covered the wooden floor.
The bedroom had a queen-size bed, a sleeper sofa, and a large bathroom with a beautiful tile walk-in shower. The ceiling featured oak timbers; the kitchen cabinets were honey oak. A partially stone-covered wall covered one wall, and the room was furnished with barnwood accent furniture and rustic, framed photos of grizzly and black bears in Glacier National Forest.
The condo was perfect for this special occasion.
Kendra studied one of the photos more closely. “Is this you and your brother when you were cubs?”
