"Hello?" he said, lifting the phone to his ear.

Juliet's cheerful voice immediately sounded from the other end.

"I came to the mall with two of your bodyguards. I'm at Max Mall and we're shopping around. Look at your phone. I sent you some pictures. Tell me which one looks good on me."

As she spoke, Cassian lowered the phone slightly and glanced at the screen. The moment he saw her name, a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

The executives sitting around him noticed.

Every single one of them.

Several people nearly forgot to breathe as they stared at him in disbelief.

Cassian was smiling.

Nobody knew who was on the other end of the call, but it was obvious that whoever it was held a very special place in his life.

Completely unaware of the shock he was causing, Cassian opened the photos she had sent. The first picture showed Juliet standing in front of a fitting-room mirror wearing a baby pink dress that hugged her figure perfectly. The halter-neck design exposed her shoulders, and her long hair fell loosely down her back while she smiled brightly at the camera and winked.

Cassian studied the picture for a moment before the smile on his lips deepened slightly.

"Beautiful," he muttered.

His thumb moved across the screen.

The next photo appeared.

Almost immediately, the smile faded.

His brows pulled together.

The second dress was much shorter than the first.

He swiped again.

Another dress.

Then another.

Then a photo of Juliet wearing shorts and a crop top.

The more pictures he saw, the more complicated his expression became.

Around the table, nobody was paying attention to the presentation anymore. The presenter had continued speaking for a while before eventually giving up altogether. Everyone's eyes were fixed on Cassian as they watched their normally terrifying CEO sit there scrolling through photographs with the focus of a man reviewing an important business proposal.

Finally, he lowered his gaze and typed out a reply.

‘It looks good.’

A second message followed almost immediately.

‘This one is good too.’

Her response came almost immediately.

"Right? I thought so too. I knew you'd like it."

The excitement in Juliet's voice brought an unconscious smile to Cassian's face. The tension that had been sitting on his shoulders throughout the meeting eased slightly as he listened to her, his attention drifting further and further away from the presentation playing on the screen in front of him.
