A slow smile spread across his face.

"I expect repayment later."

Understanding instantly dawned in her eyes.

Heat crept onto her cheeks.

"Shameless," she accused, lightly poking his chest.

Cassian caught her hand and kissed her fingertips again.

"You knew exactly what kind of man you agreed to marry."

Juliet laughed softly, unable to hide her smile.

"Fine," she said finally. "Deal."

Cassian's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he drew her hand to his lips once more, looking entirely too pleased with himself.

A week later, Vincent paced restlessly inside the lavish wedding hall, his jaw clenched so tightly that the veins in his neckstood out. His eyes kept darting toward the entrance every few seconds, filled with anticipation and anxiety.

"Are you absolutely sure Juliet will come?" he asked for what felt like the hundredth time, his voice strained. "She'll stop this wedding, right? She'll come back for me?"

Standing beside him in her elegant green gown, Alexa forced a reassuring smile despite the irritation building inside her.

"Of course she will," Alexa said confidently, taking his hand. "Juliet loves you too much to let you marry someone else. She's probably on her way right now. Just go through with the ceremony. Once she sees you getting married, she'll definitely show up."

Her words finally calmed Vincent a little.

Soon, the wedding ceremony began.

Guests filled the grand hall as soft music played in the background. Vincent stood at the altar, but his attention remained fixed on the entrance. Every time the doors opened, hope flashed in his eyes—only to be replaced by disappointment.

Just then, Griffin hurried over with a strange expression on his face.

"Congratulations, man," Griffin said awkwardly. "I never thought you'd choose to get married on the exact same day as your ex."

Vincent frowned. "What are you talking about?"

Griffin looked stunned. "Wait... you don't know?"

A bad feeling instantly settled in Vincent's stomach.

"Know what?" he demanded.

Without saying another word, Griffin pulled out his phone and played a video.

The moment Vincent saw the screen, his entire body froze.

In the video, Juliet stood in a breathtaking wedding dress, wrapped tightly in Cassian's arms. In front of countless guests, Cassian lowered his head and kissed her passionately while everyone around them cheered.

"They got married today," Griffin said quietly. "A friend who attended the wedding sent me this video."

Boom.

It felt as though a bomb had exploded inside Vincent's head.
