I decided to leave this issue between the two men. I went to the espresso machine and made myself a cup of coffee before I added milk to it. I carried the mug to the tableand set it on the surface. He sat at the head of the table, so I took the chair on his right.

He grabbed me before I could sit down, tugging me onto his knee and hooking his arm around my waist.

My arm automatically dropped around his neck.

He kissed me. “Good morning.”

“Good morning.”

Then he gave my ass a gentle spank, like he was ready for me to move.

I sat in the other chair, feeling warm inside first thing in the morning.

“Hungry?”

“You don’t have to make me anything.”

He left the chair and crossed the room, his back so chiseled that the muscles hugged his spine. “Already did.” He grabbed a plate from the cabinet and served the over-easy eggs and strips of bacon onto the plate. He grabbed the slice of bread still sticking out of the toaster then carried it to me.

“Thanks.”

He returned to his chair and finished his food, his phone sitting next to his plate.

He’d just shown up at my place last night without notice, and now we were eating breakfast together like a couple. That was fast.

“I’m worried they’ll notice your Range Rover since it’s daylight.”

He shrugged. “I don’t care.”

“You don’t seem to care about a lot of things.”

“I don’t waste my time worrying about things that haven’t happened. It’s an approach everyone should take.”

“Okay, what if he did notice your Range Rover and confronted you?”

He shrugged before he took a bite of his bacon. “I’d tell him to mind his own damn business.”

“I know you’re trying to get in his good graces, and I just think sleeping with his daughter isn’t the best way to achieve that.”

“I’m going to say this one last time.” He set his elbows on the table as he leaned toward me. “This is my problem—not yours.”

I should be irritated when he spoke to me that way, but there was something about it that I liked. I liked that he didn’t care what my father thought, when anyone else would be too scared to touch me.

“Salvatore made it very clear what would happen if I went for you. And you know what? I don’t give a damn. I accept the consequences of my actions, whatever they may be. Now don’t worry your pretty little head about this, alright?”

I nodded.

He leaned back into his chair and continued to eat.

I grabbed my fork and sliced into the eggs he’d made for me.

“I need to find a place around here. Can’t commute hours every day.”

“Are you going to sell your place in Palermo?”

“No, I like it too much,” he said. “Want to go house hunting with me?”

“I’m no real estate expert.”
