“I got plans, nigga. You need to do the same.” I cut a smirk toward him, then let my eyes drift over to his girl. She was over there rolling her eyes so hard that them hoes might’ve got stuck if she kept doing it.

This bitch was mad as fuck, and I didn’t give a single damn.

“Aight, Kyrie, come on. Let’s finish eating,” Sianni said, nudging me back toward my plate.

“Aight, Ma.”

I went back to eating, but my mind was already three steps ahead. As soon as I cleared my plate, I needed to get my cousin alone. It was time to tell him everything that was going down.

Sitting here watchingSianni play nursemaid and spoon-feeding this nigga like he was a king made me wanna throw up all my food. I didn’t know what it was, but the bitterness was sitting heavy in my throat. Things should’ve been different. That should’ve been me in that designer chair, living the high-profile life and making every hoe in the city sick with envy.

But nawl, instead, I was stuck with Marvin’s dusty ass. A nigga with zero ambition and a regular-ass nine-to-five that brought in regular-ass checks. I didn’t have the luxury that Sianni was flexing. She had a man who moved mountains to make sure she was straight. Yeah, his arm was in a sling, but shit, at least he was still providing a lifestyle I could only dream of.

I was busy stabbing at my food when a loud knock at the door broke the tension. A girl with jet-black hair hanging halfwaydown her back bounced into the kitchen. She was undeniably bad, but I could tell just by the way she carried herself that she was ghetto as hell, too.

“Sianni, my bitch! Wassup?” the girl yelled, her smile taking up her whole face.

“Hey, Drayla boo!” Sianni jumped up, grinning from ear to ear as if she’d just won a damn prize.

I didn’t know who this new bitch was, but I already didn’t like the way she had Sianni’s full attention. I kept my eyes on my plate, eavesdropping while I chewed.

“How are you holding up?” Drayla asked, leaning against the counter.

“We’re good,” Kyrie spoke up, his voice dropping into that cocky tone of his. He looked at Sianni and licked his lips, a slow smile spreading across his face. “I’m just trying to finish this food so I can get to the dessert.”

I almost gagged right then and there. I didn’t give a damn about their bedroom business, and hearing him talk like that in front of the company was too much.

“Eww, bruh.” Drayla laughed, her eyes still trailing over Sianni’s curves. “You could’ve kept that to yourself. But hell, it would be nice to know what all that ass looks like in the air.”

My fork hit the plate with a clatter. That shit caught me all the way off guard. I looked between the three of them, my mind racing. What kind of freaky-ass situation did they have going on? I knew Kyrie was unhinged, but having my “best friend” out here doing threesomes and whatever else with random bitches?

The jealousy turned into a cold kind of curiosity. Sianni really was living a whole different life, and the more I saw, the more I realized I needed to find a way to snatch that crown she was wearing right off her fucking head.

After Sianni finished feeding him, Kyrie got up and headed into the room with Marvin. I didn’t know what the fuck thosetwo had going on, and honestly, I didn’t care. It was none of my business. My main priority was sitting right in front of me. I needed to see what the hell Sianni and this Drayla girl really had going on.

I waited until the sound of the men’s voices faded down the hall before I shifted in my seat. I pushed my plate away, acting like I was finished, and leaned my elbows on the table. I forced a little softness into my eyes, trading my stank face for a curious grin.

“So, Drayla…” I started, my voice smooth but dripping with fake curiosity. “Sianni hasn’t really mentioned you like that. How long have y’all been close?”

I cut my eyes to Sianni, waiting for her to realize how crazy it sounded that she had a “bestie” I didn’t know about. We’d been through everything together, but now she was acting like this girl was her soulmate.

“We’ve been kicking it for a minute now,” Drayla said, sounding unbothered.

“That’s wassup.” I nodded, picking at a stray crumb on the table. “I was just surprised. Usually, Sianni tells me everything. But I guess things changed once you moved into this big house.”

I turned my focus back to Drayla, poking at the comment she made earlier.

“That ‘dessert’ joke you made… you caught me all the way off guard with that one. I ain’t know Sianni had that kind of freak in her now. Is that how y’all move? Just one big happy, freaky family?”

I watched Drayla’s face, hoping for a slip-up. If Sianni was out here sharing her man or having threesomes with a girl, I needed to know. It made my stomach turn to think Sianni was living this wild, high-stakes life while I was still stuck in the same old cycle. I needed that dirt. I needed to prove that Sianni wasn’t the “perfect wife” she was pretending to be.

Drayla laughed and shook her head. “Girl, ain’t nothing going on between us. It ain’t even like that. I got a nigga.”

I tilted my head, letting a small smirk play on my lips. “Oh, so that’s how y’all play?”

“Yeah, from time to time, but who are you again?” she asked, knitting her eyebrows together.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” I said, stepping forward and extending my hand. “I’m Alexia, her best friend.”
