The way he pulsed inside me. The way his breathing stopped for a second before coming out in a harsh, shuddering exhale. The way his grip on me finally loosened, just slightly, as his body gave in.
“Fuck,” he breathed out, his voice barely audible.
I stayed there, collapsed against his chest, feeling the way his heart pounded beneath my palms. I felt the way his body trembled just slightly as he came down.
For a moment, neither of us moved.
We just stayed there. Breathing. Trembling. Holding onto each other.
And then, slowly, I lifted my head and looked at him.
His eyes were closed. His jaw was tight. And when I looked closer, I noticed that his left shoulder was tense. His breathing was just a little too controlled.
“Kyrie,” I said softly. “Are you okay?”
He opened his eyes and looked at me. And despite everything, despite the pain I knew he had to be feeling, he smirked.
“I'm good, ma,” he said, his voice rough but satisfied. “More than good.”
I shook my head, but I couldn't help the small smile that pulled at my lips.
“You're crazy,” I whispered.
“Yeah,” he said, his hand sliding up to cup my face. “But you love it.”
And he wasn’t lying. I did. Kyrie had turned my whole damn world upside down.
A MONTH LATER…
I washappy as fuck because I was finally getting this damn sling and cast off my arm. I could finally move around without everybody looking at me like I was gon’ break or some shit.
Yeah, I still had rehab to go, and I knew I had to take it easy for a little minute longer, but at least I ain’t have to walk around with this damn cast slowing me down no more.
Sianni finished helping me get dressed before we headed out of the house. Things between us had gotten closer over the last month.
At first, shawty barely trusted me enough to breathe around her. Now, she was helping me get dressed, making sure I ate, fussing at me every five minutes, and climbing over me at night like she ain’t just spent half the night acting irritated with me.
And honestly? I liked that shit more than I probably should’ve. She helped me into the car, and for once, I ain’t even say nothing slick about it. A month ago, I probably would’ve been irritated as fuck about needing help with simple shit.
Now? I had gotten used to her being here. Besides, once this cast came off, I could finally start doing shit for her again instead of sitting around, letting her do everything for me.
Once we got in the car, Sianni pulled out of the driveway in silence. I already knew what that meant. Shawty wasn’t fully awake yet.
I learned real quick not to bother her too much in the mornings before she had coffee because her attitude would be on a different level until caffeine hit her system.
So, I just sat back in the passenger seat, scrolling on my phone while she drove. A few minutes later, she pulled up to this lil’ spot she had found called Golden Palms Café. Ever since she discovered that place, she had been obsessed with it.
She pulled into the drive-thru and ordered her usual little shit. A vanilla espresso shot and a strawberry cream cheese danish.
I glanced over at her while she was ordering, watching the way her face finally started waking up a little.
“Damn,” I muttered. “Coffee really got this much control over you?”
She cut her eyes at me while reaching for her card. “Don’t start.”
I smirked, leaning back against the seat. “I’m just saying, ma. Before coffee, you act like you hate everybody.”
“I don’t hate everybody before coffee.”
