I had caught her calling Kyrie multiple times just to either hang up or sit there begging him to talk to her. The shit had alone had me looking at her sideways. Couldn’t be me.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I've crashed out a little over Marvin before, but at least I had a reason. That nigga was paying my bills. A girl needed stability.
Marissa, though? She was out here embarrassing herself over a man who clearly didn’t want her ass anymore.
I let out a long sigh before finally climbing out of bed. I’d been lying around all damn day, staring at the ceiling, irritated with life. Not that I had anywhere to be anyway.
Marcus had cut off my phone, canceled my cards, and stopped sending money completely. Nigga basically cut me off like I ain’t spent years dealing with his bullshit. Now I was stuck walking around, broke as hell, with nothing but this cheap little phone Marissa gave me. And that raggedy-ass thing barely did anything besides text and make calls.
Honestly, the shit was depressing. I rubbed my hands down my face before walking out of the room and heading downstairs, already hearing Marissa talking before I even made it to the kitchen.
The second I stepped down the last stair, I saw her sitting on the island with wine in one hand and her phone in the other, looking completely fucking unhinged.
And judging by the way she kept replaying whatever video she was watching? I knew it had something to do with Kyrie and Sianni.
“Bitch, you good?” I asked, walking into the kitchen, confused as hell.
I didn’t know how long Marissa had been sitting up drinking, but judging by the half-empty bottle on the counter, shawty had clearly been going at it for a minute.
“Yeah, I’m straight,” she muttered, barely looking up.
My eyes narrowed. “What the hell you looking at?”
“I’m watching a video of Sianni and Kyrie.”
“What video?”
Instead of answering me, she turned her phone around. As soon as I looked down at the screen, irritation instantly crawled up my spine.
It was a video of Sianni and Kyrie walking out of a building, with Kyrie holding her hand while cameras flashed all aroundthem. Every few seconds, his hand would slide to the small of her back like he ain’t trust nobody getting close to her.
And the way he was looking at her, that shit made me sick. Like the nigga had won the lottery or some shit. Meanwhile, Sianni was standing there smiling hard as hell like she had hit the jackpot herself.
I sucked my teeth and looked away from the phone.
“We need to hurry up and do something about this,” Marissa snapped, taking another drink from her glass. “You said you were going to help me get rid of this hoe, but we still ain’t made any moves.”
“And you said you were going to help me with ideas,” I shot back, folding my arms. “But all you’ve been doing is sitting around drinking and stalking those damn pages.”
Her jaw tightened instantly.
“We’re supposed to be doing this shit together,” I continued. “Not me doing all the damn thinking while you get drunk stalking their pages.”
Marissa slammed her glass on the counter harder than necessary before finally looking up at me.
“And I’m trying.”
“Well, try harder.” I shrugged. “’Cause sitting here mad ain’t going to break them up.”
The room fell quiet for a second before Marissa grabbed her phone again and replayed the video. That bitter-ass look on her face told me everything I needed to know. She was spiraling.
“I guess,” she muttered, rolling her eyes before taking another sip of wine.
I smirked a little before grabbing the bottle off the counter and pouring myself a glass too.
“What about this, though?” I said, swirling the wine around slowly. “I call up Amani.”
Marissa frowned instantly. “What the fuck does he have to do with this?”
