Marissa's jaw tightened.
“No,” she replied calmly.
“He did.”
“No, he didn't.”
I stared at her for a second.
See…
This was exactly the type of shit I was talking about.
Cause ain't no way in hell I would've been holding onto a man this hard after he done married somebody else.
Don't get me wrong; Marvin and I had our moments.
But this?
This was different.
Kyrie had moved on.
Everybody knew it. Hell, the whole damn world knew it. Yet, somehow, Marissa still couldn't accept it.
That wasn't love.
That was obsession.
And Marissa was starting to have entirely too much of it.
“Girl, just dead it, okay, and let's focus on the plan,” I replied.
“That’s what the fuck I’m doing, bitch,” she snapped.
“No, you're not.” I shook my head. “But you know what? Fuck it. I'll do this shit my damn self.”
At that point, I was getting tired of going back and forth with her ass.
I wanted to fuck up everything Sianni had going on just as much as the next person, but sitting around staring at a damn phone all day wasn't getting us anywhere. If I wanted something to happen, I had to make moves. Shit wasn't just going to fall into my lap.
The problem was, I was stuck waiting. Waiting for somebody to make a move.
Waiting for something to happen. Waiting for any damn thing.
And the longer I waited, the more irritated I got. Because from where I was standing, neither of them seemed to be doing shit for real.
I sucked my teeth and leaned back against the couch.
What made it even worse was that I didn't have the same access I used to have.
Back when Marvin and I were together, getting information was easy. If I wanted to know something, I usually found out one way or another.
Now? I was damn near in the dark.
And I hated that shit.
Taking a deep breath, I rubbed my forehead before looking over at Marissa again.
