The drinks were reasonably priced and were always served with a smile by one of the hot, hunky bartenders. Many of the bartenders were musicians or artists, each one with their own creative hustle going on outside of work.
The booth seats were compact and snug, and offered the perfect amount of privacy to let loose and let the good times flow. At the same time, it was still possible to peer out from the comfortable booth and see what was going on across the width of the bar.
Privacy and the ability to people watch? This sounded like a dream as far as Max was concerned.
Max also felt sure that if Channing could get past the wild vibe, he would probably have a great time here too.
All told, Max was seriously impressed with the place.
My kinda vibe. Real Daddy energy.
My kinda beers. Real Daddy drinks.
I think tonight’s going to be a good night…
Max looked around the bar and saw that both Harrison and Michael had arrived before him.
Max’s fellow Daddies were both safely nestled in one of the booths near the back of the bar and already had a table fully stocked with a metal ice bucket containing what appeared to be gold-label, premium beer.
‘Hell yeah!’ Max called out, raising his hand to his friends and walking over toward them.
Max hadalwaysbeen a confident guy.
Ever since he was a toddler who could barely walk five feet without stumbling, Max just had a natural sense of his own charm. People were drawn to him, and he was drawn to other people too. Max’s popularity growing up had given him a lot of confidence to be himself and do what he wanted in life.
It was great to be confident, and Max certainly didn’t underestimate the benefits that came with it. However, Max was beginning to see that perhaps his confidence didn’t run as deep as many, including himself, thought it did.
Max hadn’t seen Michael or Harrison in a while. They might have been college friends going all the way back to theirPrinceford University days, but time waited for no man - or Daddy for that matter.
Both Michael and Harrison had been doing very well in their lives. Whether it was money, career success, or foreign travel, Max knew that his two friends wanted for very little. Everything seemed to come very easily to them.
As Princeford graduates, Michael and Harrison had made the most out of their education and built upon their hard work in the ensuing years. It wasn’t like their lives were perfect, but from a purely career and success perspective, both Michael and Harrison were very much living their best lives as far as Max could tell.
Max’s recent life experiences hadn’t been so good. It made Max feel like crap, but when he thought of Harrison and Michael he only saw his own failures. It was part of the reason why when he had his car smash, he chose not to contact either of them.
They may have been three old Daddy friends, but the thought of receiving sympathy from them was something that didn’t appeal to Max at all. He wanted to be treated as an equal, and the idea that his buddies might pity him was too difficult to handle.
But rather than get too down on things, Max decided to put his best foot forward and party just like he did back in the day.
‘The old Princeford gang back together!’ Max declared as he approached the table.
‘Looks like Max’s finally embraced the Daddy-side!’ Michael roared, much to Harrison’s delight.
‘Hell yeah!’ Harrison bellowed. ‘And about time. I’ve never seen a more natural Daddy in my fucking life. Excluding myself, of course.’
Max grinned.
But before Max had the chance to sit down, both Michael and Harrison were off their feet and the three of them were part of one big, musclebound bearhug.
It feltgreat.
Max immediately felt at ease and knew for sure that neither Harrison nor Michael thought any less of him despite the recent downturn in his fortunes. This is what true friendship felt like and Max felt sure that this was going to be a superb night.
After finishing the extended bearhug, the three Daddies clambered back into their booth.
All three of them were pretty much the same age, and all three looked great for their forty-four or thereabouts years on the planet.
Harrison was blessed with the kind of natural tan and darkly brooding eyes that would make any guy, young or old, swoon. Not only that, but his body was looking in extra-good shape having recently completed a bootcamp with his new personal trainer.
