Kieran kicks open his bedroom door and drops her on the bed. She bounces once, hair wild, cheeks flushed. Her eyes are shining as if she’s exactly where she wants to be.

He doesn’t touch her right away. “You sure?”

Her smile shifts into something devious. “I stripped in front of your cameras. On more than one occasion.”

That’s… answer enough for Kieran.

He leans down, and she pulls him into a kiss that steals the air from the room. Jace stops beside me in the doorway, watching the same way I am, as if this is something sacred instead of indulgent.

Kieran’s hands frame her waist as he hovers over her. Eris curls her fingers under the edge of his shirt, tugging it up and over his head.

I stand there, bearing witness as the tension finally breaks away from all of us. The night softens around us in a way I haven’t ever felt. It’s easier to breathe. I don’t need to check the locks again. And I don’t have the compulsive need to be in front of a computer screen.

For the first time since I can remember, I don’t feel the need to control a damn thing.

Eris is safe.

And she’s exactly where she was meant to be
