His face set, he drew in a long breath.

She crossed the threshold.

His chest inflated in one swift, strong burst.

With her beautiful face stripped of makeup, her long blonde hair tumbling over her shoulders and her body wrapped in an oversized checkered nightshirt, Siena carried a faint air of vulnerability amidst the defiance she was radiating.

How, he wondered dimly as arousal pulsed thickly through him, could someone who looked like a sexy angel brought to life have a heart blacker than the deepest circle of hell?

“Take it off,” he commanded softly.

Her eyes closed and her jaw tightened before she obeyed, her fingers deftly undoing the buttons. Shrugging her arms out of the sleeves, she let it fall to the floor.

For the longest, longest time, Elio did nothing but soak in the naked body he’d spent all those years fantasising about.

Reality far surpassed fantasy. Everything was so much more than he’d imagined, a series of sensational curves seamlessly flowing together into an hourglass. Her breasts with the pale pink nipples were larger and fuller, her hips more rounded, her waist smaller. Her thighs were delectable, the V of her sex between them covered in a light smattering of blonde hair.

He met her stare. Her cheeks were saturated with colour. Soon, they would be saturated with the desire she so detested.

Triumph punching through him, he smiled. “Come here, wife.”

Chapter Six

The walkto the bed were the longest and heaviest steps Siena had ever taken. Her insides were trembling, something it was taking everything she possessed to keep contained.

She’d never been naked in front of a man before. Not in the whole of her life.

Whatever happened, she must not show fear or panic.

She tried to blur Elio out, to turn him into a faceless blob. Maybe it would help if she could trick her mind into forgetting who he was.

The faceless blob put a finger to his lips in an unspoken command.

Locking her jaw together, she sat gingerly on the edge of the bed, unable to stop herself flinching at the lazy finger he trailed down her back.

She forced a breath, then twisted her body and lowered her head to place a kiss on his mouth.

As mad as she knew it was, the feel of Elio’s warm lips against hers eased a little of the internal tension. His kisses were something her body enjoyed to the extent that if he said he wanted to spend the next hour doing nothing but kiss, she could switch her brain off and sink into the evocative sensations.

But all the kisses they’d shared to this point had come under conditions that were safe, when she knew kissing was all they would do. Why she’d been able to trust him to keep his word during those kisses was something she doubted she would ever understand, and it didn’t even matter because there were no more promises to keep. Either she did exactly what he wanted, or she risked losing everyone she loved and probably her own life, too.

His fingers knotted in her hair and lightly tugged her head back. His silver eyes pulsed. “Seduce me with your mouth,” he commanded huskily.

Only years of mastering her poker face stopped Siena’s fear from showing, and she lowered her mouth back to his before he could read it in her eyes.

She kissed Elio deeply, filling herself with his taste to fill her resolve. She just needed to get on and do it. No thinking.

But no matter how much she tried not to think, her brain refused to comply. She was expected to put the essence of his maleness in her mouth, a thought only marginally less terrifying than him being inside her.

Was there a universally agreed way to suck a man off? Unlike most of her generation, Siena had rarely been exposed to porn. After listening to her brothers talk about women in the most degrading ways possible and that horrible experience when she was fourteen, she’d set the filters on her phone to block all pornographic content. She only knew the term blow job was a misnomer because an old school friend had been the first of their little gang to give one and couldn’t wait to inform them that there was no blowing involved.

Delaying the inevitable, she tentatively brushed her mouth across his jawline. Her lips tingled at the sensation of his soft beard scratching against them. When she reached the corner of his jaw, she pressed her lips into the side of his neck, just belowhis ear. For as long as she lived, she would never understand how a man so monstrous could smell so good.

As she moved her mouth down the strong column of his throat, the fingers knotted in her hair loosened to lightly clasp her head, but he didn’t push her head down, simply rested his hand on her scalp as if content to let her kiss her way down his body.

Needing to steady herself, she hesitantly placed her hand on his side. His skin was warm.

Everything about him was warm, she thought as she slowly kissed her way to his chest. And strong. So strong. Pure muscle wrapped in flesh.
