My phone is vibrating in my pocket, and I know it’s not her, but I have to check anyway. I can’t help it. The message that lights up my screen is from Colin. Of course. It could have been anyone but her.
Disappointment washes over me, and I can’t do a thing about it. It still hurts like hell that she doesn’t text me or reply to my messages anymore.
“Still nothing?” The sound of Beck’s sympathetic voice makes me look up. He’s leaning against the other side of the record store checkout counter where I’m working. He blows a strand of hair off his forehead.
