Lips on my ear. “Don’t move.” Lips on my cheek. “I’ll be right back.” Lips on mine. I’m too exhausted to ask where he’s going. My eyes won’t even stay open. My limbs are jelly and I’m cradled in the plush cocoon of oxytocin.
I’ve nearly dozed off when something tickles my nose. Then settles on my head… and starts rumbling like a mini locomotive.
“Hey!” Remy shouts.
I crack an eye open.
He storms out of the bathroom and points at me.
No. Above me.
“What did I say? No loafing on him! He’smine.”
Mitz doesn’t move.
A laugh bubbles up. “Are you…jealous?”
“You’remyboyfriend, not hers,” he snaps, throwing a scowl at his cat. “But she can’t seem to grasp that concept.”
“You’re fucking ridiculous,” I giggle. (Because this man turns me into a lovesick, giddy kid.) He flicks me off, eyes sparkling with mirth. The bed dips with his weight as he crawls between my legs again.
My brow arches. “Baby, there’s no way I can go another round right now.”
The look on his face reads, “Obviously, dumbass,” as he holds up a washcloth I hadn’t noticed in his hand. My stomach swoops.
“I can’t clean up my boyfriend after fucking him senseless?” he asks, gently wiping the cum drying on my skin.
My vision blurs.
He’s too good to be true.
“You can,” I blush. With an adoring smile, he resumes, intermittently kissing and sucking hickies as he goes. Once he’s satisfied, he tosses the rag off the bed, pulls my back to his front and drapes the blankets over us.
“You’re a much better little spoon when you’re naked,” Remy chuckles, lacing our fingers.
I can’t tell who’s purring more: me or the cat on my head.
The happy chemicals in my brain combined with the warmth of him all around me create the perfect cocktail for deep, undisturbed rest. My breathing evens out, my eyes closing…
“Hey love?”
“Mmm?”
“Howdidyou get in my apartment?”
A sleepy smile curves my lips. “I made a copy of your key.”
His head pops up. “When?”
“I don’t know, like a month ago?” Sharp pain stings my ear. “Ow! Don’t bite me!”
“You bite me all the time, you hypocrite!”
“That’s different. It’s cute aggression. I can’t help it.”
“Troublemaking menace,” he grumbles, snuggling into me again. Wiggling back, I mold myself against his hard body, lifting our joined hands to kiss each of his knuckles.
A minute passes.
