“Blake, you can’t be a dad, you haven’t got a clue?—”

“Issac, unless you want to be fired on the spot, I suggest you shut your mouth,” I snap, cracking my knuckles.

Issac leans against the doorway, clamping his mouth shut.

He’ll never get another package like this anywhere in the world, so fuck him.

I can see him doing the math in his head, and annoyingly, Brian clears his voice to ask the one question I don’t want to answer.

“How far is Danielle now?”

“Eleven weeks.”

Issac closes his eyes, and I know why.

Eleven weeks takes us back to the week webothslept with her.

I feel physically sick, but what can I do?

If it’s his kid, I’ll kill him and raise it as my own.

No way can I have him lording it over me that he got my wife pregnant.

No fucking way.

“Blake,” Issac whispers, licking his lips. “You know that means I could?—”

“Issac, don’t do this.” I sigh, waving away the lawyers who look ecstatic to be released from the room. “I’m going to be frank with you. You used protection, I didn’t. Not once. The chance of the baby being yours is slimmer than hell freezing over.”

Issac rolls his eyes, wrapping his fingers around the chair in front of him.

“How do you know we used protection? You weren’t there.”

Don’t react.

“Issac. You don’t want any more kids, you’ve said so yourself. You’d never fuck a girl bare,” I remind him through gritted teeth.

His smile sends shivers down my spine, and he looks up at me with a shrug. “But I liked Danielle.”

I stare at him in disbelief.

“We were drunk. Lost in the moment…” Issac runs his hands through his hair. “Shit.”

For a brief second in time, we’re best friends again, and I shake my head at him, praying he’s wrong.

“I’m sorry, man. I didn’t know you were in love with her.”

I nod numbly. “But it was once, right? Just once.”

Please say yes, or I’m going to rip your throat out.

Issac shifts, glancing around us before groaning. “It was onenight. Not once, but one night.”

My head spins.

My best friend and soulmate spent the night before our wedding fucking relentlessly.

Danielle told me it was just once, but I guess that’s what she meant.
