I snorted. Dick.
I clicked on his profile, my heart pounding. His profile photo was of him on a yacht—of course—surrounded by beautiful women.
Urgh. Lila, what are you doing?
He declared himself a CEO of some plastics company—I didn’t pay much attention—and a lover of rare antiques.
I cursed and scrolled down, my eyes drinking in the gallery.
Women everywhere. Beautiful women draped on furniture and drinking champagne. Images of him at a golf course, and then a mansion with yet again, more champagne.
Exactly the sort of man Lila and I would’ve scoffed at a few months ago.
Now he had my wife on a date.
I tossed my phone and stared at the blank TV.
I’d wait up. She had to come home eventually.

LILA
Ihad a lovely time despite the oh-too-familiar surroundings. My brain went into ‘Victor’ mode, and it was hard. I missed him, as much as I hated to admit it.
“You know, you seem a little distracted.” Graham tilted his head and sipped his wine. “I mean, I get it. I turn up out of nowhere…you’re pregnant and living with your ex.”
I winced. “It’s a lot.”
“It is,” Graham agreed. “But I didn’t come here expecting anything, Lila. Just your company.”
I squirmed a little in my chair. “You said you couldn’t stop thinking about me.”
His eyes glittered with mirth. “I can’t.”
My stomach flipped as his gaze locked onto mine.
“You’re stunning, and I’m a red-hot-blooded male. I’d be a fool not to try.”
I gulped my water down, so I didn’t have to answer. He was being rather direct about his intentions.
“I like spending time with you,” I admitted, pushing my plate away. I was so full I felt like I could burst. “I didn’t expect to see you again.”
He smiled. “Ihadto see you again.”
Warmth rose in my cheeks. “I’m flattered.”
Graham signalled for the check, and I licked my lips nervously. What happened at the end of the date? What did Iwantto happen?
“I know you’re still in love with him,” Graham said, leaning forward. “But if you want something to take your mind off him…I’m more than happy to oblige.”
Holy shit!
He’d nailed it, absolutely nailed it. I couldn’t see myself in a relationship with anyone, let alone someone who spent half his time flying around the world.
But a distraction from Victor?
Nowthatcould work.
