When I open my eyes again, there’s a beautiful naked woman in my lap.
* * *
Maggie
It’s notevery day I find myself naked and straddling one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
But I’d like it to be.
I have a whole speech prepared. About love. About courage, and finding it in myself through him, and yadda yadda.
It’s all gone now because he’s kissing me with abandon before I can even say hello. He’s kissing me so wonderfully I forget my speech. I can’t even remember my name.
“Oh, Maggie, Maggie, Maggie,” he says.
Oh yeah, that’s right. I smile against his mouth. His mouth trails off my lips to nuzzle my ear and neck. He inhales me deeply even though I’m dripping wet.
From the pool.
Pervert.
I’d been soaking in it waiting until the time was right to strike. I sent Mrs. J. home in my car. She’s totally capable of driving—she only chooses not to when it’s convenient for her. After many minutes of wonderful kisses, I pull back, still very, very naked and aware of it.
“Hi,” I say.
He closes his eyes like I’ve said so much more. “Hi.”
“I’m very, very naked.” I lean back.
The adoration in his eyes melts to something far more dangerous. “You really, really are.”
“You have me at a disadvantage.”
“Not possible for Miss Mayday. You always have a plan B.”
I let out a sigh. “Sadly, Miss Mayday has retired and it’s just boring old Maggie now.”
He chuckles and squeezes my thigh like it’s all he can do not to do more. “You’re anything but boring.”
He holds my gaze as he reaches for a towel and wraps it around my shoulders.
“Thanks.”
He kisses a drop of water off my nose.
“Today was amazing… I never would have…” I cup his face with both hands. “Thank you.”
His eyes cloud over. “I needed to do something to help. Zebulund sent me some footage from the cabin. What you did for me. And then my reaction. I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t want to think about it. It all brought us to this point.”
He brushes his hands down my neck and shoulders. I shudder with pleasure. He clutches me to his chest. I relax onto him, between his legs on the long chaise lounge. His heartbeat soothes me.
I feel like we have so much to say to each other, but instead, we both lie there in silence. After a while, I finally say the thing that’s weighing on me the most.
“You think he’ll actually go to prison?”
“Hard to say. Once the initial scandal wears off and something else distracts the media he may be able to bribe some people.”
