SUBJECT: sorry I yelled

RC,

I hadn’t had breakfast. I’ve had the day to cool down, and while I still don’t understand how you weren’t in a puddle crying, I don’t actually think you’re heartless. You were the one that suggested the show, so you obviously understand the beauty of it.

What exactly do you mean about TF? About it not being about the show entirely? Are you able to elaborate?

I wanted to ask you about something. I have been wondering if maybe you’d like to video chat sometime? It would be easier than these back-and-forths (which I do enjoy). I inevitably forget something I want to tell you when I’m writing you emails because I get so distracted about the next line.

No pressure. I know writing is easier for some people than face-to-face conversation. Some people being me. And I suspect, based on the fact that you have said that you definitely avoid talking to people at all costs, that maybe you aren’t up for it either, so I totally understand.

At the risk of total humiliation, I have come to see you as one of my closest friends. I haven’t really kept up with anybody from college. I have online friends, but I don’t really know them (and somehow, that feels different than what we have). I’ve purposely kept people at a distance at my “temporary.” And so, talking to you is the highlight of my day, even when you’re arguing with me (especially?).

Anyway, just throwing it out there. Again, no pressure.

Kate

Kate,

I feel the same way about our exchanges. I look forward to these conversations more than just about anything. Besides Agata and the children, I don’t have people to talk to either. My two best mates are off leading exciting and active lives, and often I feel a little left behind. But I also know that lifestyle is just not who I am. I’m a fan of privacy and solitude.

When I tell you that I hope to meet one day, please don’t think I’m trying to be trite. But right now, I just don’t think that the time is right. I am still trying to stay focused on my health and avoiding major life changes, but I do hope to meet face-to-face one day. I’m just not quite ready yet.

I don’t want anything to change between us. I still hope you’ll consider me a dear friend because I certainly feel that way too.

Sincerely,

RC

Of course! No reason to even apologize. I shouldn’t have … You have your privacy, and I respect that. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. All is good here. <3

Best,

Kate
