He clears his throat and takes on a very solemn his expression. “I think we can solve this pretty easily.Bouvierhas a store in Palm Beach.” His gaze runs up and down Mindy but not in a creepy way. He runs a fashion empire, so his job is to assess whichever man or woman he’s dressing, and he’s damn good at it. “Whatever you choose, we’ll probably need to take up the length due to your height, but there are seamstresses on staff.”

“I can take you,” Gianna says brightly. “I need to go anyway because there are a couple beads loose on the dress I planned to wear. I didn’t notice until I took it out of the bag at the hotel.”

Mindy smiles and shakes her head. “That sounds like a lot of trouble. I can just stay at the hotel and get some work done.”

Absolutely not. However, I know this woman, and I’m positive she’s going to be stubborn about this.

Glancing around, I spot a door and wrap my hand around Mindy’s slender wrist. “Excuse us for a minute,” I tell Auburn and Gianna as I pull her toward the door that houses golf carts when they’re not in use. I hear them both chuckle behind us.

“What are you doing, Remi?” she hisses as I open the door.

I don’t answer, hauling her inside where we startle a younggroundskeeper who suddenly stands and bumps his head on the top of the cart he was cleaning.

“Oh, Mr. Hale!” he squeaks, rubbing the top of his blond hair.

“I need a private place to speak with my… teammate,” I announce.

“Sure. Of course. Okay,” he rambles nervously. “I’ll just… go?”

“Yes, please.”

He scrambles from the garage space, his shoes slapping against the concrete floor before closing the door behind him. “I think you gave that poor kid a concussion,” Mindy scolds as I pull her behind me, weaving us through the forest of golf carts until we’re at the back row.

“He’ll be fine,” I say, climbing into one of the mint-green carts and patting my thigh. “Sit.”

Her face is the picture of reluctance, but she does, draping herself across my lap. “I really don’t mind staying at the hotel,” she says immediately. “There’s no need to buy a dress for one night.”

I cup the side of her face and give her my simple truth. “It would make me happy.”

Mindy blinks, scrunches her eyebrows together, and tilts her head. “You really want me to go?”

“Of course I do. If you don’t go, I’m not going either.”

She lets out a sigh. “Do you have any idea how much a Bouvier dress costs? Roger has returned most of my savings, but he also spent a chunk of it on vacations with his mom the past few months. The judge said he’ll take the rest of it out of Roger’s half of the profits from the house once it sells. I can’t really justify…”

“Mindy,” I say sternly. “I’ll buy the dress.” When she starts to protest, I press a finger to her lips. “Consider this a work event. We’ll be doing a lot of networking, so it’s my responsibility to provide you with appropriate attire.”

“You don’t have to buy me things,” she says emphatically. I turn my hat around backward, and Mindy rolls her eyes. “Oh, now you’re pulling out the big guns to convince me?”

“Is it working?” I ask, grinning cheekily.

Her eyes soften. “A little bit.”

I remove her hat and turn it around backward as well. Then I kiss her. Quite thoroughly.

“And now?” I murmur against her soft lips.

“I’m coming around to the idea,” she teases, wriggling against my growing erection. “What else you got?”

“Lift up that skirt and I’ll show you.”

She raises her little black skirt, and I frown. “What the fuck is that?”

“There are underpanties built into the skirt.” She widens her eyes at my apparent confusion. “You know, for modesty in case a wind blows it up?”

I tug at the stretchy material, which is, indeed, attached to the skirt. I look around the space. Though we’re alone right now and semi-hidden in the back, someone could walk in at any moment, so I don’t want to remove her skirt entirely. Instead, I slide the crotch to the side, along with her soft cotton panties, and drag my finger through her slit.

“Remi, we can’t,” she groans even as her pussy grows slick with each stroke.
