I looked at my mother, who angrily stared at her husband.
“Whose side are you on?”
“Not now, Tammi,” he said firmly but respectfully.
Her nostrils flared. “I’m the only one who seems to have any common sense around here.”
Doc shot me a look, and I shook my head.
“Ma. Doc.” I looked at them. “I’ma get out of here. I wanted to stop by and let y’all know what’s going on. I’ll check on you again during the week. I love you.”
Despite how my mama felt, I hugged her and kissed her cheek. I bet once the baby arrived, a little innocent face would melt her heart.
“I love you too,” she said.
We never let a disagreement or argument stop us from saying, “I love you.” We believed that anything could happen, that life could change in an instant, so whenever we parted ways, we made sure our love was felt and left no doubt that it would always remain.
Doc walked me outside and then closed the door behind him. “Reason, don’t worry about your mother. You know how much she cares about you. I’m happy for you, and you have my support.” He slipped his hand into his trouser pockets and gazed at the multimillion-dollar home across the street.
Once he was done gathering his thoughts, Doc went on. “Having a grandbaby is one of the things she talks about often.” He paused again when the loud trash truck stopped in front of the house to pick up the garbage. Then, when the driver drove away, he continued. “Your mother will come around once the baby gets here. You’ll see. She and I will have a long talk when you leave here.” He patted my back like a father would a son. “You take care of yourself now and be safe.”
“Thanks, Doc. Love ya.”
“Love you too, Reason.”
CHAPTER 18
SAJE
The newest thing added to my plate was having to deal with a random bitch carrying my husband’s baby. This definitely wasn’t on my bingo card.
On the other hand, what the fuck did I look like carrying a child? I was already a thick bitch, so the only thing a pregnancy would’ve done was make me gain weight and act like a crazy woman.Fuck all that. That was not an option either. Not only did I not want to be pregnant, but I also didn’t want to be responsible for no crying ass baby. Despite how I felt, the same shit I didn’t want would happen soon.
I couldn’t believe I was going to be forced to take care of a child that technically had no relation to me.
I couldn’t risk using my own egg. If Reason found out I was fertile, the way my life would change was one of the only things that scared me. But would I really be able to keep faking this shit whenhischild got here?
The entire situation was irking my nerves.Damn Reason!
Ezekiel lay on his back, dick shooting up to the ceiling, and ready to fuck while I went on a rant. I needed someone to vent to, and right now he was the only person here to listen. It didn’tmatter that we didn’t have much time to get our rocks off and head back to the studio.
Instead of having sex in the dressing room like we usually did, we decided to freely fuck without any restrictions. Which was why we booked a hotel room right down the street from work to handle our business.
“Reason is getting on my damn nerves with all this surrogacy shit! I’m about ready to contact that agency my damn self, pay them off, and make them tell him that something came up and the surrogacy contract has been terminated.”
I was on the verge of crying and wanting to put an end to this baby bullshit.
Ezekiel sat up in bed, and my eyes instantly traveled down to his wood, which still hadn’t softened since we entered the room.
“Saje, we gon’ have to stop fuckin’ if you continue talkin’ ’bout that nigga right before I get in them guts. I ain’t got time to hear ’bout your marital issues with a nigga whose bitch I’m fuckin’. I’m here to fuck, not be no therapist.” Disapproval gleamed in his eyes.
Ezekiel could be so disrespectful with his words sometimes, but the way his dick disrespected my pussy was what made me keep coming back to his ass. He sexed me like the hood nigga he was, and that was the type of shit I loved. On screen, he was a proper husband. Behind the scenes, he was my ghetto side nigga.
“You ain’t gotta say all that. I swear you go overboard.” I retorted, rolling my eyes. “Just shut up and slide in this pussy.”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to do.” Ezekiel got up and came over to where I stood. Without a sign or warning, he tightly gripped my neck, threw me on the bed, and rammed himself into me. I let out a loud moan as he began to work my middle.
Reason had already given me the full course meal, but Ezekiel was the dessert. People would probably call me selfish or say I’m wrong, but shouldn’t a woman be able to have it all?
