“He believes the Magna Vis acted like a portal to Ellnesari,” Cheryl answers.
I pull my hair back, yanking at the strands. “We need to go after her.”
“What’s all the commotion?” Saxon asks from the top of the stairs. Aurora, Vaughn, and Sophie are with him.
“The Magna Vis took Vivi and Adrian back to Ellnesari,” Cheryl replies.
“You don’t even know if that’s true,” I snap. “Maybe Adrian kidnapped her.”
“He didn’t kidnap her, son,” Uncle Raphael interjects from the living room where he simply materialized out of thin air.
“Whoa. How did he get here?” Vaughn asks. “The sun hasn’t set yet.”
“I brought him,” King Ruel answers from behind us.
I whirl around and face Vivi’s father. “Was that your doing? Did you have Adrian take her to Ellnesari so you could carry on with your plan?”
His brows shoot up. “I did no such a thing. You may think I’m a heartless monster like my wife, but I wouldn’t risk Vryenn’s life or the life of your child.”
“So you don’t know where Vivi and Adrian are?” Cheryl asks through a choke.
“No. I couldn’t sense her, which means she’s not in Aquila.”
“What if the Magna Vis took them back to the Valley of Lost Souls?” Manu asks, and King Ruel reacts as though that’s a solid possibility. It feels like a punch to the gut.
“If she’s there, I will find her,” I grit out.
“Let’s not jump to conclusions. The fact that she isn’t in Aquila is actually a good thing. It means she’s not close to Maewe,” my uncle says.
King Ruel rubs his face. “Yes, you’re right. We must go at once. Bring whatever weapon you have at your disposal.”
“What about the children?” Cheryl asks.
“Gerard will take good care of them, sweetheart.” Ronan pulls her into a hug.
“Where are Rikkon and Miranda?” Aurora asks. “Surely they aren’t still sleeping.”
“They left early in the morning,” Gerard answers. “I already called them, and they should be here shortly.”
“Everyone to the weapon room now. Grab everything you can carry,” I say. “We aren’t coming home without Vivi.”
At least I’m not. I will never stop looking for her.

VIVIENNE
My ears are ringing, and there are white dots floating in front of me. I blink fast, trying to clear my vision so I can figure out where I am. Someone grunts next to me, and I hope it’s Adrian.
“Vivi, are you okay?” he asks.
He comes into view when my vision returns to normal. “I think so. And you?”
“Yeah.” He touches his throat, covering the medallion, and sighs. “It’s still here.”
I scan our surroundings to find out where the Magna Vis brought us. When I touched it, it created a portal to Ellnesari, but where exactly is the most important question.
