He brings his other hand to my breast and pinches my nipple hard.

I squeal and squirm in my seat, which only makes my plight worse because my pussy is so swollen, and it rubs against the strap between my legs.

“Sit still, naughty girl. Eat your breakfast.” He brings the fork closer to my lips.

Like a little bird, I open for him and let him feed me.

“Good girl.”

Gah, his praise makes me even hornier.

He’s grinning as he takes a much larger bite of his own food before feeding me some eggs. He also thumbs my sore nipple, rubbing it until it’s harder than a rock.

“You’re the best gift I’ve ever received,” he says softly. “I’ve spent a lot of frustrated years, waiting to find a mate. Now I understand why I had to wait. Fate had you in mind for me all along. She knew what She was doing. I’m so fucking lucky I want to shout for all the world to know.”

I stop chewing while he speaks. He means every word, and I feel his devotion and commitment to me. It’s palpable in the air. He’s restrained me to prove a point—that I love his dominance and crave it. He’s right. And he knows it because he can somehow smell my arousal. That’s hardly fair. I can’t smell his. But I guess I can see evidence of it when I look at his crotch. The bulge at the front of his jeans is huge.

After I swallow my next bite, I distract myself from how kinky this meal is by asking him a question I’ve been wondering since I first woke up in his cabin. “When do you shift?”

“Whenever I want. I’m not like a werewolf who needs a full moon or anything. I shift at will. And by the way, wolf shifters also shift at will. So do bears.”

I stare at him. This conversation is so surreal. Even though I’ve always been aware of shifters, I’ve never knowingly had a conversation with one. I’ve never asked any questions. I just knew they existed.

“When can I see your lion?”

“I can do that for you after breakfast if you’re ready.” He feeds me another bite. He’s so controlling. It’s both frustrating and titillating.

“You won’t, uh, eat me or anything, will you?” I ask. I feel silly, but I don’t understand what happens when a person is shifted. Will he become feral? After all, lions are carnivores. They would eat a human, given the chance.

“No, Little love. I’m not a wild animal even when I’m shifted. Think of me as being more like domesticated.” He chuckles. “I’m always aware of my human side. I don’t shift and then start tearing into animals and humans for sport.”

“But you can…”

He nods. “I could.”

“Have you ever? Attacked anyone, I mean?”

He hesitates. “Not yet.”

I suck in a breath as I consider his meaning. “You want to. You want to tear Mitchel apart limb from limb.”

“Yes, Little love. I do. That’s not an inclination I have because I’m a shifter. Even a human man would want to seek revenge on anyone who treated their mate the way he treated you.”

I swallow. “I’m not sure how I feel about you going after him, Navin. He’s not worth it. What if you get in trouble?”

He sets his fork down and faces me. “Brea, I won’t get into any trouble. I promise. Mitchel is a bad man. He has to be stopped. Do you want him to traffic other women?”

My eyes widen. I hadn’t thought about that. “No.”

“Do you want me to call the police, show them your clothes from his attack, have him arrested? You’d spend months, if not years, dealing with the legal battle to get him convicted and put in prison.”

I shake my head slowly. I’d hoped it might be enough that he wouldn’t ever find out I survived, so he wouldn’t come after me again. But I hadn’t considered the fact that he would take another woman and sell her. He’s probably done it many times and will continue to do so unless he’s stopped.

“What are you going to do?” I ask.

“I’m not sure yet, Little love, but I don’t want you to worry about it. I’ll take care of Mitchel.”

“What about my brothers?” I whisper.
