He winked. “Sweetheart, you know I can’t say it out loud, I don’t want to hurt their feelings.”

I rolled my eyes with a giggle. “You’re ridiculous.”

I heard banging on his door, followed by shouting.

He groaned. “Fuck, Em, I have to go. Coop is outside and we’re heading for food. I’ll speak to you later, ‘kay? I love you. I love you, boobs.”

“We love you too.”

He hung up and I stayed where I was, tiredness from the early morning class taking over for a second before I stretched my arms and legs out, easing my muscles and getting back on my feet. I debated having a bath but decided against it. Instead, I turned the shower up high and stripped off, tossing my workout gear into the laundry basket before stepping under the hot water.

Jupiter was still in his room by the time I’d got out and dressed, so I made some oatmeal and used the time to create the playlist for my next class. I was starting to wonder if he’d got sucked down the drain when he appeared.

“Feel better, Grumperson?”

He grinned. “Much. Thanks.”

He walked into the pantry and came out with his arms full of food, which he put down on the island counter. I watched as he started piling up a bowl of cereal, yogurt, berries, and nuts, which he ate while he stared at the bread he’d put into the toaster, popping it as soon as it was at the right level of done.

This was making me hungry again.

I snatched up one of his slices of peanut butter covered toast and turned on the coffee machine.

“What movies are we watching? I intend to spend the rest of the weekend in front of the screen?”

“So far we have Avengers and Die Hard. What else do you want to watch? What time does football start?”

He thought for a minute as he gobbled up some cereal. “We’ll watch the second game, and nah, not Die Hard. It’s not Christmas yet. What about Wolf of Wall Street and something with Ryan Reynolds? He’s funny as fuck?”

“Deadpool?”

“Yes. And where did you put all the snacks?”

Ah, yes, the snacks.

Jupiter was incredibly strict with his diet during the season, but the second it ended, his palette reverted to that of a seven year old boy. On the way back from the city yesterday, he’d made us stop at the store so he could stock up on junk food for our movie day - Red Vines, popcorn, Mike and Ike’s, Goobers, Milk Duds, and Reese’s Pieces. I hadn’t yet decided whether he was legitimately trying to put himself in a diabetic coma, or at the very least, make himself sick.

“They’re in the pantry.”

“Good, just checking you hadn’t put them in the trash when I wasn’t looking.”

It would be a lie to say I hadn’t been tempted.

“Chill out, they’re still there. But let me know ahead of time if I’m going to need to take you to the emergency room to pump your stomach.”

“Yes, Mom.”

“Whatever. Shall we just go now then?”

“Hell yes. Movie room in five?”

I nodded. “I’ll clean up here if you go and set it up.”

He ran off downstairs, taking his toast with him, as I loaded the dishwasher, making two more coffees and grabbing the blankets before I joined him, handing them over as I sat down.

“This house is actually pretty cool.” Jupiter wriggled into one of the giant velvet beanbags on the floor.

I got comfy on another one. Instead of movie style seating, Drew had wanted what Freddie apparently had at her house in London, which was a cinema room with massive sofa beds on the back wall, but giant beanbags at the front, making everything super cozy and snuggly. We’d been spending a lot of time in here under the blankets as the weather had got colder.
