“Go into my office.”

I walked off and found them where he’d said I would. Taking a seat back at the table a few minutes later, I handed some to Jupiter.

“Start drafting what you want to say. Two paragraphs, tops.”

I began jotting down some ideas. It needed to be irrefutable and unquestionable.

“Oh hey, Mol,” Wolfie interrupted my train of thoughts, calling over to her. “What happened to that hot doctor who asked you out?”

“WHAT?”

Everyone startled, turning to stare at Felix, who was looking slightly flushed.

“Sorry, I was talking to Drew, looking at his statement,” he mumbled, his head dropping.

I glanced down at my piece of paper where I’d written absolutely nothing, because I’d been typing it into my phone instead. I stared back up at Felix, but he was engrossed in his phone. No one else seemed to have noticed how weird he was being.

“Mol?” Wolfie pressed.

“Oh, nothing.” She turned to get something from the fridge.

“Well, there are a ton of hot doctors in that hospital,” Wolfie continued. “Freddie and I saw loads when we were there the other week. We’re going to come and find some more for you.”

“Fucking stupid expression,” Felix mumbled under his breath, but not quietly enough.

Everyone turned to stare at him again.

“Pardon?” asked Wolfie.

“I said it’s a stupid expression. You can’t find someone for another person like they’re lost property, like you’d need to go to Lost and Found for them,” he mumbled louder so everyone could hear him.

He was also staring at Molly as he said it, and she’d gone bright red.

“Shit, look at the time, I have to go. I have a shift I’m going to be late for.” Molly picked her bag up off the floor and started walking out. “See you guys soon. Bye.”

We all stared as we watched her leave.

I don’t think I’d ever been more confused in my life, mostly because as I looked around, no one seemed to have noticed how weird that was.

“Now look what you did,” Felix grumbled again.

“Clevs, are you okay? Is it time for some painkillers?” asked Jasper.

I stared at Jasper, who was looking at Felix, and seemed genuinely concerned for his comfort levels, and not at all questioning why he was being shifty as fuck.

“Yeah, thanks. I am aching actually, but I’ll get them. I need to keep moving.” Felix reached for his crutches, pulling himself to his feet, hopping about slightly.

Jupiter stood up too. “Okay, I can’t fucking concentrate. And we have our call now, so let’s go.”

I thrust my phone at him where I’d written up what I thought would work. “Here, how’s this?”

He read it over, his eyebrows shooting up. “This is really good, man. Really good. We can use this.”

He passed it to Jasper, whose hand was outstretched, Cooper reading it over his shoulder, both nodding.

“It’s good.” He passed it back to me.

“Let’s run it past Mary first.”
