“Now, Luck.”
His words unleashed an atomic crescendo and I finally let go of the pressure I’d been gripping onto for dear life, allowing the power of it take hold. My bones melted, wave after wave crashing through me as he kept thrusting into me, not letting me come down until it claimed him too.
His mouth engulfed mine again, swallowing my cries, his cock swelling a final time before his own explosion ruptured with a loud groan. He collapsed to the side, shuddering through the aftershocks, his dick still pumping inside me.
We lay there, tangled together, our chests heaving until our breathing returned to normal and he began trailing his fingertips across my skin, calming my racing heart. Turning his body toward mine he pulled me close, his eyes soft, contentment spread across his face and my chest tightened, heavy with the emotions still flowing through me.
Brushing away hair that had stuck to my forehead, he kissed me on and on with unrelenting tenderness.
“You are so perfect. I can’t believe I have to leave for the new season already, when I only just found you again.” He rubbed his nose against mine and the unwelcome scratch of tears formed in my throat.
There was nothing for me to say, because it was true. I knew full well how punishing the sports season could be, and I didn’t want to add to the burden of that.
He got up and walked silently out of the room. I could hear him rummaging around in the kitchen before he returned carrying two bottles of blue electrolytes. I looked at him, questioningly, as he handed one to me.
“You need to stay hydrated. We’re about to go in for round two, and this time, I’m not planning to be gentle. I’m gonna be so deep inside you tonight you’ll be feeling me until I get back.”
I stared at him, unblinking, as he twisted the cap off the bottle, a dark grin snaking his lips before he downed the contents.
The pulse between my legs started up again.
It was official.
He had completely ruined me.
Chapter 12
Iexhaled loudly through my teeth as I pushed the hundred pound dumbbells out and over my chest. It was the end of my third set of reps and my pecs were on fire, lactic acid burning me from the inside.
I grunted and dropped them on the floor by my side.
We were flying out tomorrow for our first game of the season; an away against Philly, then one against Carolina. And for the first time ever, I wasn’t as pumped as I normally would have been, knowing it had everything to do with the beautiful, freckle faced, auburn haired wonder I’d left in bed this morning.
I’d woken up long before her, a rarity over the past few weeks, and had taken the opportunity to soak her in as much as possible, committing her to memory before I left, and use it to keep my anxiety at bay. Long, thick lashes had fluttered gently against her cheeks as she quietly dreamed; her face peaceful, her pink lips soft and still slightly swollen from where I’d kissed her all night long. I counted her freckles - she had seventy three dotted across her sun kissed skin - nineteen on her nose, thirty one on the right cheek and twenty three on the left.
I didn’t know if it was the happiness of finally getting her back or the freshness she brought to my life, but I knew that the time I’d spent with her had been the best I’d ever had.
She’d anchored me.
I watched her sleep, my heart filling up with her, filling up with the love I had for her. Filled to bursting.I loved her.
I was so fucking in love with her.
And now I had to leave for five days.
I looked around the gym. Some of this season’s rookies were over on the mats in the far corner of the room, rolling and stretching out.
I could hear Carter Rice grunting nearby in the squat rack. Huck and Brogan Bartlett were spotting each other on a chest press. Dante Manners was doing pull-ups on the overhead bars, racing against one of the new guys.
Everyone was behaving like normal.
I reached for the dumbbells again.
“Bro, you’re gonna wear those out if you’re not careful.”
I looked up to see Felix and Cooper standing behind me in the mirror. I grunted through another eight reps while they watched, unimpressed, although they should have been. I knew for a fact that Coop couldn’t lift as much as me.
“Are things not going well with Lucky?”
