I snapped out of the trance I was in, and could see the boys looking on in amusement. “Fuck, yes I do.”

With zero amount of coolness, I ran after her.

“Hey, wait.”

She stopped and turned, her eyes scanning my body with an expression that remained unimpressed. Her sky-high heels were bringing me almost eye to eye with her which, given my six four stature, was saying something. She must have been at least five ten, mostly legs. Legs I wanted wrapped around me.

I managed to untie my tongue. “What’s your name?”

“Seriously?” Her sneer overflowed with derision.

“Yes, what’s your name?”

She arched a perfect eyebrow at me. “Why?”

I’d cultivated a certain charm that meant I could get away with most things, but I didn’t think telling her it was so I’d know what to call her while I was fucking her into oblivion would go over all that well.

And I would definitely be fucking her into oblivion later.

“Because I want to know.”

She stared at me, her eyes held in suspicious slits with more than a little apprehension, and didn’t budge an inch. I waited another second to see if she’d tell me, but it was clear she wasn’t going to. Not to worry, I wasn’t one to give up at the first hurdle.

Or any hurdle.

“Okay I’m going to call you Lucky because you’re dressed like a charm I’d find at the bottom of a rainbow.” I flashed a wicked grin at her. “Wanna see my pot of gold?”

Her eyes glinted with amusement that she was trying and failing to hold back, a tiny smile creasing the corner of her mouth.

Win one for the Crawley charm. Internal high five.

“So now you know I’m funny, come to dinner with me.”

I checked myself internally, wondering if she noticed the surprise on my face becausewhere the fuck did that come from? But she didn’t seem to.

“No, I’m with my friends.” She started to walk off.

I couldn’t tell if she was playing hard to get or genuinely wasn’t interested, but either way it was a challenge I was accepting.

“Then where are you going to be later?”

She shrugged but didn’t stop walking, me running alongside her like an obedient puppy. “I dunno, around?”

One massive stride and I was in front, blocking her path and invading her space; she held strong against me, her chin lifted in defiance. Her confidence was making my dick harder than it already had become in her presence, and I leaned in to kiss her cheek. Keeping my lips pressed against her creamy skin a beat longer than appropriate, I inhaled the sexiest scent I’d ever had the pleasure to, hitting me like a drug, intoxicating my blood and flushing my veins with a high that could never be replicated.

Her breath stuttered, and I knew I was reeling her in.

I moved back, pulling away just enough to keep her intrigue tipped. “I’ll be playing poker over there…” I pointed in the direction of the high stakes tables, to the left of the main floor, “come find me, Lucky Charm.”

A subtle rosiness peaked her cheeks. She turned away without saying a word, and I watched her walk off and out of sight.

Jesus Christ what that dress was doing to her ass should be illegal, and for my eyes only.

I gave myself thirty seconds to get my shit together then ran after the guys, finding them at a booth inside the VIP section of what appeared to be the place to be tonight, given the amount ofpeople in here. They’d already got stuck into the first round of drinks; I picked up the fullest looking glass, and sat down.

“What was that about?” Felix eyed me as he sipped an Old Fashioned.

I looked at him with an expression of faux innocence. “Don’t know what you mean.”
