“Oh, dude, she’s fucking perfect.” My voice broke.

He smiled up at me. “Yeah, she is; takes after her mom.”

I dropped a kiss on Wolfie’s head. “Congratulations, Mama. You guys did good.”

“Thanks, Drew. And thank you for all those presents. She’s going to be so spoiled.”

I had no doubt.

I moved Emerson out of her seat and sat on it, pulling her back into my lap, wrapping my arms around her.

“So, how’s being a parent?”

“Scariest fucking thing I’ve ever done. Man, I’ve cried more than you in the last two weeks and I can’t fucking stop.”

I snorted. “You’ll get used to it.”

Jasper looked back down at Flossie, his hand rubbing her back, so big against her tiny body. It was almost incomprehensible how little she was.

And that they’d made Felix and me godfathers, even if it was under duress.

We were definitely going to fuck it up.

Or Felix would.

I pulled Emerson in tighter, burying my head in her hair, inhaling her, running my nose behind the back of her ear.

“You want one of these?” I whispered, nodding over to Flossie.

She shifted in my lap slightly so she could see me better, a smile tugging at her lips, her expression soft. “Yeah, one day.”

I brushed my lips against hers. “Me, too.”

Patti placed a couple of the pizzas on the table, taking more into the others still watching the pre-game. Wolfie grabbed some slices off the board and placed them on a plate, handing it to Jasper. She could have just taken Flossie, but I had the feeling removing his daughter from his arms was not an easy task.

Everyone was digging in.

“Fredster, how are you doing? You feeling okay?”

I hadn’t seen her for a while and she looked like she’d swallowed a basketball. She was so short with a massive belly; I was surprised she didn’t topple over all the time.

“I’m good, just a couple more months left. I just hope it comes during Bye Week.”

I reached for another slice, handing Emerson one at the same time.

“Yeah, that would be good for you. Jas got lucky just before we went away.” I turned to him. “We missed you a lot though, buddy.”

He grinned, looking over to Wolfie. “Thanks. I can’t say the same.”

Patti joined us at the table. “What do you think of my new granddaughter?”

“You mean my new goddaughter?” I winked. “I think she’s perfect.”

“Correct answer,” she laughed. “She definitely looks like Wolfie, but I think she has Jasper’s mouth. And she certainly has his appetite I’ve noticed. Let’s hope she doesn’t make Wolfie’s nipples as sore as Jasper made mine though.”

I coughed on the pizza I’d just tried to swallow, almost all of it lodging in my windpipe, inhibiting my ability to breathe.

Emerson started smacking my back, hard.
