I side-eyed him.

“Mate, seriously.”

I sighed because I could never hold out from talking about her. “Amazing. I’m going to ask her to move in with me.”

“Whoa, dude, that’s great! Congratulations. When?”

“Soon, definitely,” I grinned. “Anyway, how are you? How long are you back for?”

“I’m here for good. That’s why I’ve not been here the last few months. I was just finalizing everything back in London with Jamie and the office there.”

“No shit, really? That’s awesome. We need to go out. You wanna come to the next game?”

“Yeah, definitely. It’s always good to see where my investments come from,” he laughed.

Murray ran a successful hedge fund in London with his brother, and he’d spent the last year setting up an office in New York for his US clients. A couple of us, me included, had been investing money with him, and he was fucking good at delivering a very healthy return.

I smirked. “Next two games are at home. I’ll set you up with tickets.”

He reached for another beer.

“Cool, thanks, man. Although I guess you’re not going to be ‘outout’ anymore,” he air-quoted with a grin.

Felix smirked, knocking the tip of his beer bottle against Murray’s. “Dude, I’m so glad you’re back. This one hasn’t gone ‘outout’ in months. I need a new partner in crime, and you’ll fit in nicely.”

It was true, I couldn’t deny it.

But still, I could go out, I wasn’t totally whipped.

Although was it even whipped if you didn’t want to be anywhere else anyway?

“Hey, I’ll still come out. I just have something much better waiting for me at the end of the night.” I gave them my best smug face.

Felix shoved me with a smirk.

Wolfie walked in, straight to Jasper, leaning down to kiss him. “Babe, I need to take her.”

“Okay.” He kissed Flossie’s head before handing her over.

“Wolf, where are you taking her?” Felix called to her as she left.

“It’s bath time.”

“Can I come and help?”

She smiled in surprise. “Of course you can, Felix, if you’d like to.”

I’d never seen him get up so quickly. He ran after her, fist pumping the air. “Godfather for the win!”

Emerson passed them on their way out. I patted my lap and she settled into it.

“Has Jupiter been on?”

“No, but they’re saying he’s going to get MVP,” replied Tate, managing to tear his eyes away from the screen to look at her.

“Huh.” She pulled a face.

You could almost see the lightbulb going off in his head.
