“Just drive, arrogant boy.”

“That means yes,” he smirked, revving the engine.

Patience didn’t come naturally to him, but he figured that the things worth waiting for made a man patient enough.

Sunny had claimed him forever ago.

It was only right that he claimed her back.

Even if she wanted to fight him the entire way.

He knew now she softened for his kisses. And he wasn’t above using whatever weapons he had to get his girl.

FOURTEEN

Sunshine

In Sunny’s most vivid dreams, she never imagined that Sebastian Priest’s passionate kisses would leave her lips so inflamed after hours of soul-stirring make-out sessions.

But as she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror, her pink, puffy lips tilted up with a smile she couldn’t hold at bay. Making out with Seb was a dream come true.

They’d kissed so often that her lips no longer felt like they belonged to her. He’d left her dizzy and spellbound by his addictive mouth.

While brushing her teeth, she tapped a few buttons on her phone screen and waited for Harper’s face to appear. Her friend was still lying in bed.

“Are you awake?”

“Sunny, I answered the phone. Of course, I’m awake.”

A smile played on Sunny’s lips as she moved onto moisturizer, adding dabs to her forehead and cheeks. She had the phone propped up against the wide mirror on the bathroom counter while she multitasked.

“I was just making sure. Are you alone? Or is your hubby lurking nearby? I need a pinkie swear meeting.”

Their pinkie-swear conversations were sacred, and Sunny would take secrets to the grave. Not even being waterboarded by Samuel Evans, the hottest film star in the world, could get her to confess Harper’s most profound thoughts.

On step two of her skincare routine, she heard a manly grunt as Harper looked to her right. “Baby, go make the coffee.” She told her husband.

“You’re lucky I love the fuck out of you, sweet baby, kicking a man out of his bed not ten minutes after you took advantage of me.”

She heard Harper laugh. The phone dipped as they kissed, and then she heard Harper say, “I’ll love the fuck out of you again in an hour. Disappear while I talk to my bestie.”

“Aww, you’re so sweet,” she shared with Harper when her friend’s face reappeared on the screen.

“Loveable rogues are great, but it’s besties first,” she affirmed, wiggling her pinky finger at the camera. “Now what’s going on?”

Sunny breathlessly told Harper everything in one long, uninterrupted sentence. “For the past two days, we’ve been making out like crazy. My lips are so puffy, look!” She put her face closer to the screen. “But that’s all we’ve done, Harps. No under-the-shirt groping or touching, just kissing. What does that mean?”

Harper scooched up against her padded headboard, grinning from ear to ear. “I gotta say, I love this for you, Sunny. You’re making out with Seb! Where is the big kissing stud?”

“He’s in the garage working out.”

“And you’re not down there ogling him?”

Sunny’s face erupted into heat. “I can’t. It’s too much.” She’d watched him jumping rope like a boxer for two days, and each time, she was so turned on by him smirking, watching her watching him. “His workout shorts ought to be illegal.”

Harper cackled. “Again, I say I love this for you. It’s about time he caught up. You’ve been waiting too long. So, you’re worried he’s not humping you?”

“Yes,” she whined, brushing her hair until it was shiny.
