Seb’s lids lowered at her eagerness, and his cock renewed like he hadn’t just come his brains out minutes ago. If he weren’t picking her up in twenty minutes, he’d seriously let her watch him stroke another one out, but wanting to be in Sunshine’s orbit, putting his arms around her, and hearing her laugh directly in his ear was more critical than climaxing.

“If you were my wife,” he told her as he finished with the towel and tossed it in the hamper in the corner. “You could play with my cock as often as you wanted to. And I’d encourage it often, Sunny. Morning, noon, night, and the time between.”

He wanted to be owned by her.

It was a throb in his chest that was getting louder as the days went by.

“Ask me properly.” She pulled a face at him as he slipped into a pair of dress pants. The restaurant he was taking her to was a five-star establishment, and only his Souls connection had gotten his name on the booking for tonight on short notice.

She still thought he was joking about wanting to be her husband. It was cute.

“I’d ask you, but I’m a traditional romantic. The man has to do the asking and the promising.”

He turned and winked to find her eyes all over his ass.

“You are unbelievably handsome. You make my stomach hurt,” she whined.

Enjoying her attention, Seb finished getting dressed and running his fingers through his hair before patting on some cologne. He didn’t bother shaving today. Sunny liked his face scruff; she rubbed her cheeks on it often enough for him to catch that clue.

“Sunbeam, you’re sexually objectifying me,” he rasped.

“I’m allowed to! I’m practically your old lady.” Damn straight, she was. She didn’t know how close she was to being his old lady and his wife. “I only need the ring, wedding certificate, and Property of Priest patch.”

She’d done it now.

It was the first time she’d mentioned wanting his Property patch, though it was a given that it was hers. But hearing her say it sent a bolt of lightning through Seb’s sternum, and he strode to his phone, grabbing it to face level. Close enough, he watched Sunny’s pupils enlarge.

“Sweetheart, you have ten minutes to finish getting ready, and then I’m coming for you.” The way he growled made it sound like a threat.

Maybe it was because Sunny saying she was waiting for his Property patch had his guts churned on fire, and the last vestige of control broke in half.

He wanted to own Sunny Hawk so fucking badly, to be with her twenty-four-seven.

“O-okay, my Seb,” she stammered, smiling shyly like the little brat knew how fucked up he was about her.

The call ended, and he prowled through the house, collecting the stuff he needed to meet up with his favorite person.

His phone rang before he reached his F-150. Because the night was brisk, he depressed the lock before he answered the call and climbed in as he heard Alpha’s voice.

“I know you have your big date with little Sunny. It’s all you do lately.”

“What do you want, Alpha?” he cut in.

Alpha chuckled. “I thought you’d wanna know. I just finished a meeting with the Sheriff, and they still have no leads on the drive-by.” It appeared to be a random hit without association with the club.

“That’s nothing we didn’t already know. But diners don’t get shot up for no reason. Has Lawless finished looking into all the customers there that morning? Anyone on a list?”

“Clean as a whistle. It makes no sense. We would be the only reason for a drive-by if we were basing it on who was there. But there’s no connection. Hawk’s problem was plugged up, and there isn’t any blowback off that.”

“Right. Keep me in the loop if you find anything, but as of now, I’m off the clock, so don’t need me for shit, Alpha.” The other guy laughed and told him to enjoy his night.

Sunny was waiting on the stoop when he pulled up, looking stunning in a knee-length striped dress. He held a hand for her to stay right there when it looked like she would dart down the steps. He walked up to them and stooped down to kiss her hello.

She turned sweet in his mouth.

“Hi.” She smiled, and his heart flipped over. He was so fucking crazy about her. It was unreal.

“I come and collect you,” he told her, “don’t run down to me like that.”
