Grace smiled at her. “Hi. Your purse is so cute. Is that from Faun?”
“It is,” Fiona squealed. “I got it the other day.”
“Did you get a doll, like I did? Did you know Faun makes purses for them?” Grace leaned in conspiratorially.
Fiona’s face lit up. “Oh, they do, don’t they? I need one.”
Faun. That was the store where purses cost as much as cars, right? Shit.
“Hi, Saoirse.” Grace waved.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Saoirse replied.
“This is my other big sister, Verity. Three of her mates play with Carlos. She’s getting her PhD in plant genetics. She’s nearly done too,” I stated.
Verity laughed. “Except for the whole finishing my research and writing the dissertation part. But sure, Hale.”
“And then we have AJ, Verity’s other mate. He’s a retired hockey player who does finance bro shit,” I finished. “And this is my omega, Fiona, and her mate, Saoirse.”
“I’ve heard so much about you already.” Fiona handed me my pass, so we could get into the special areas of the arena.
While I’d been to Knights games with Verity, I hadn’t gotten to go into the special room with the free booze.
Verity reached into her purse and pulled out the backpack charm. “Whose is this?”
“It’s mine. Thank you,” Fiona told her.
“Hale, please don’t do that again. Not because of the car, but because I watched some of the race online and the fact that you were all going so fast, through Manhattan, was terrifying. I saw those crashes. I like you in one piece and I’m sure your mates do, too,” Verity said.
“I mean, if it’s not dangerous, it’s probably not that much fun to begin with.” I shrugged.
“It was terrifying, but fun,” Fiona agreed.
“You were in the car while they were racing?” Verity’s jaw tightened.
“On Carlos’ lap.”
I put my hand over my face as Verity glared at me. “Let’s go inside. I could use some of that free booze.”
Chapter Forty
Fiona
Holding Hale’s and Saoirse’s hands, I followed his sisters to a side entrance in the arena. His sisters were all really nice. I hadn't realizedtwoof his sisters were alphas. Grace wastiny, but she didn’t smell entirely like an omega.
But then Hale had mentioned she was a gamma. They usually fell under omega rules. The gamma I knew in the Order could shoot the wings off a fly with a revolver.
While we walked, I updated Hale on everything that had been done before I’d left.
A really handsome guy with greying hair, wearing an expensive suit, waited for us.
Grace beamed and ran to him. I also knew who he was. Spencer Thanukos. Billionaire. He’d been at a charity event that my dads made me go to recently, and they’d made a big deal about it. Now that I thought about it, I think Grace was with him.
“This is Spencer,” Grace introduced. “Spence, this is Fiona, Hale’s omega, and her mate Saoirse.”
“Nice to meet you. I think I saw you at the Boston Children’s Hospital gala. I’m Fiona Gallagher. My dads probably tried to talkto you,” I replied. “Next time, I can talk to Grace, instead of eating cake in a corner, so I don’t have to talk to alphaholes.”
Grace laughed. “That sounds like a good plan.”
