“I guess we have to learn about hockey now?” I laughed.

Hale nodded. “I think so.”

Dusty joined us. Saoirse moved and he sat between us. I shot her a puzzled look.

“He offered to explain hockey, this way you can hear,” Saoirse told me.

“Thanks.”

Dusty explained things to us, which was helpful. Eventually, the period ended.

“More drinks?” Verity came back over.

“Please. Anyone?” I asked.

“Get me a beer?” Hale was texting furiously. “My little brother Chance showed Mama the viral video about Pack Himbo and has questions.”

Verity nodded. “Yeah, you should handle that. At least it’s Mama, not Mumsy.”

“I want a beer.” Dusty popped up. He and Saoirse joined Verity, AJ, and me as we went to the family room.

“Is he going to be okay?” I asked Verity. If I correctly remembered, Mama was the beta mom who lived on the West Coast. Mumsy was the judgy alpha in London with his tiny siblings.

She nodded. “Mama doesn’t speak to the other parents anymore, well, except for Baba. They’re still married. She’s the translator. Also, she’s much more supportive of us now that the alpha moms aren’t giving her shit. But it is better to answer her questions sooner rather than later.”

“Understood.” I had a thought. “Is JP’s mate here?”

Verity thought for a moment and checked her phone. “She should be now. Celine’s a flight attendant and was coming late.”

We grabbed some drinks.

“Celine.” Verity waved.

“Hi.” A beta woman joined us and smiled. “I’m Celine. You’re new?”

Oh. She smelled pregnant. Aww.

“Fiona is Carlos’ omega,” Verity explained. “Celine is Jean-Paul’s wife.”

Celine blinked. “I didn’t know Carlos was seeing anyone, welcome. How did you meet?”

“At your wedding. I was there for the other mating party. Our groups crossed paths when you were on the animals and cocktails walk, and our group was on a treasure hunt. We hung out… and well, here I am.” I laughed. “Our other alpha is still in our seats. But the rest of our pack, well, soon-to-be-pack, is over there talking to the woman with the green hair.”

Her hand went to her mouth. “Merde. He has a wholepack?”

“Surprise.” I grinned.

“Congratulations. The other group?” Her eyebrows rose. She sounded French-Canadian, though that was probably why they had their wedding in Quebec.

“I’ve known the omega who got mated since we were kids,” I replied.

A woman strode over like she was on a mission. She wore a smart suit and her pass saidStaff.

“Where’s Carlos’ pack?” she announced.

I raised my hand. Dusty and Saoirse joined me.

Her eyes narrowed as she surveyed us. “We’re missing one.”
