Well, they were all on the same page with this one.
That was for sure.
Only, Ethan knew his wife well. She might cry on the outside, but this was going to piss her off to a level they’d never seen before.
If she went head-to-head with Devon, it wouldn’t be to lose. That was for damn sure.
“What do we do to help her?” Gryphen asked. “Ian and I want to help her. How the fuck did he get flowers into the FBI building that were poisoned?”
Callen knew.
They’d pulled the footage when she’d asked them to, and worked out what had gone down. What else were they supposed to do while being decontaminated?
“Vivian was coming into the building after going outside for something in her car. He caught her out there and handed them to her. She didn’t know they weren’t a real delivery.”
Ivan went there.
“This is what happens when you break the rules,” he stated. “We toldEVERYONEin thisGODDAMNbuilding what was going on. We warned Vivian that he might try shit like this. Granted, we thought it would be someone being grabbed, but when he approached her, she should have been well aware this was a bad idea.”
They knew.
Only, people made mistakes.
Those mistakes cost lives, unfortunately.
“She overheard us talking,” Demeter said. “We heard how upset Elizabeth was after talking to Ethan, and she knew that they had a fight.”
Ethan said nothing.
He was already feeling bad about this, and like it was also his fault. He’d made that comment to Elizabeth, out of frustration, and it had a domino effect.
“It’s no one’s fault but the killer,” Callen stated. “This is exactly what he wants. He wants all of us to question everything we do. He’s a master manipulator, and he won’t stop until he destroys her and the family. Put it away. We can’t carry this,” he stated.
Callen was right.
Ivan was to the point.
“We all loved Vivian, but if we trip on this, he’s got someone else. From here on out,WE NEED TO BE CAREFUL!” he stated.
Oh, and he was right.
“So, security footage showed him approaching her?” Demeter asked. “He’s ballsy.”
Callen nodded.
“He’s got nothing to lose. He’s like a kamikaze, D. We have his ID, the whole country knows his face. He knows the endgame is death. Hers and his, if he can pull it off. We took his money, prestige, and businesses. He’s going to try to take her.”
Security didn’t like that.
Not.
At.
All.
Ethan focused, because Elizabeth needed them to do just that.
“This did what Elizabeth needed. He popped up. We now know he’s here. He wanted us to see his face. He wants us to fear being in the same place with him. Giving us that confirmation helps us, not him. That’s his first mistake. With us not knowing his location, it made it harder to protect everyone.”
