“I said,NO.”

Because Elizabeth wasn’t playing, she continued.

“If I even hear you told them shit, MATE, I’ll not only kill switch you, but I’ll have your father discontinue you for the FBI. He wants in my britches, so I’ll win this one.”

She pouted.

“If I hadREALbritches, you’d be in trouble, Mother.”

That was neither here nor there.

“I mean it, MATE. Don’t play with me. Stealth mode, please, until I tell you otherwise—not just at the end of this case. Put my signal back in FBI West, where I have an alibi.”

She sighed but listened.

Their vests all made a sound, and MATE clued them in that were offline to the world.

“I’m a ghost now, and you’re in lockdown in your office as we speak. In fact, you’re currently sending dirty text messages to a cloned phone that can be used in court if need be. You should be ashamed of yourself. Callen is going to blush.”

Good.

Elizabeth was ready.

“Continue,” she stated.

Jagger did.

“The plan is we’re going to have to navigate the woods to get to him. Using CIA tech, we can stay invisible, but I really don’t want to tangle with himINSIDEof his home. We can’t seewhat’s going on in there, and close-quarter combat in the light is dangerous. My wife is pregnant.”

Maura laughed.

“You were doing so well. You haven’t brought that up since the UK. Almost, Babe. Almost.”

He was honest.

“I have to worry about the baby on board, the director on board, and the asshole on board,” he said, pointing at Zayn. “Oh, and the bear on board. There’s a lot onboard that needs to be micromanaged."

The big man scoffed.

“And the little man trying to get on board the little lady,” he stated. “With a stepstool.”

They both flipped him off.

Neither wanted to waste the time on that conversation again. If they had a dollar for each time it came up, they’d all be rich.

Elizabeth had a plan, and she had a foolproof way to get the douchebag to come right to them.

“Get us there, and I have a way to get him out. Make it happen.”

Well, that they could do.

Parking in the safest spot, they’d make their stand here. Once out of the vehicle, Maura pulled out a tarp that was camouflage and tossed it over their ride.

Just.

In.

Case.
